The boys led Sam and Dean to an abandoned Warehouse in the city. Pulling up in front of the building, Dean could see Bobby's car, but it had been badly vandalized. Parking, he turned in his seat to face the boys.
"Did you do that to my son's car?" He asked
"No!" The three said together. Dean narrowed his eyes at them.
"Don't lie to me" He growled, and the blond haired boy lowered his head.
"Yes, sir. We were going to chop it up and sell it for parts." He said. Sam turned now to face them.
"You know, you three are lucky you weren't killed today. You want to tell us what this was all about?" He said. They glanced at one another.
"At first, we were honestly just messing with him. We wanted him to fight back, but when he didn't..." The shaggy haired kid shrugged.
"What? You figured he was an easy target?" Dean said. "You want to know why he didn't fight back? He didn't fight back, because he didn't want to hurt you. He's trained. If he wanted to fight you, he absolutely could have, and he would probably have put you all in the hospital. C'mere, let me show you something." He said getting out of the car. The boys got out and followed him to the back. Opening the trunk, Dean turned to them.
"You see all that? All those weapons?" He said. They nodded, eyes wide, mouths open in surprise.
"We hunt things. Things you wouldn't even believe existed. And my son is trained in combat, he knows how to wield every single one of these weapons. He knew he could have hurt you, and he chose not to. In doing so, he got hurt." Dean slammed the trunk and leaned down to eye level with the three boys. "So if you ever think about messing with my son again, I will come for you, and so will my daughter. And when we are done, there will be nothing left of you. Are we clear?!" He growled. The boys nodded in fear, and stepped back.
"Now give me my son's keys" He demanded, straightening and holding out his hand. The shaggy haired boy pulled a set of keys from his pocket, tossed them to Dean, and he and the other two turned and ran.
Dean handed Sam the keys, and they drove back to the bunker.

Bobby was released from the hospital the next day. Dean filled him in on the way home on what had happened the night before after they found Jo.
"Bobby, from now on, defend yourself. Monsters come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes they come in the form of humans. It sucks, but sometimes that's just how it goes." Dean said. Bobby nodded.
"Don't worry Dad, I will." He said
Back at the bunker, Jo and Cas met Bobby and Dean at the bottom of the stairs. Dean helped him down the stairs, and Jo started to follow him to his room to help him get settled. Cas spoke up.
"Jo"
She stopped, looking back at him. Her gut coiled at the look on his face. She gulped.
"Yes, Uncle Cas?" She answered meekly
"We need to talk." He said, looking at her out of the top of his eyes with disappointment.
"Can I get Bobby settled? That's all I want to do right now." She said. He nodded.
"Ten minutes" He told her. She nodded and trotted after Bobby.
Dean cleared his throat and looked at Cas.
"Go easy on her, Cas. She was protecting her brother. I would have done the same." Dean said. Cas turned to him, a small grin playing on his face.
"That's funny. I recall asking you to do the same when she trailed after us in Indiana." He said
"You're right, and I was wrong for reacting the way I did." Dean said
"I will go easy, but she still broke the rules I put in place for her to keep her powers. I understand that she was protecting her brother, and that's what the Winchester's do, but she has to learn she can't use her powers this way, Dean." Cas said. Dean grunted and walked into the Library.
Fifteen minutes later Jo joined her Dad and her Uncle in the Library. She sat down across from them. Dean had an unreadable expression on his face, Cas still had that look of disappointment as she sat down.
"Look, I know I screwed up" She said. "And I know I broke the rule Uncle Cas, but...they almost killed my brother. I couldn't let that slide."
"I understand. That is why your only punishment will be more training. It's summer, so you have no where to go. So every morning, you will get up, at five a.m. and you will meet me in the woods out back, and you will train until noon. I will give you reprieve to go on your upcoming adventure with Charlie, but you will reconvene when you return. Understood?" Cas said
Jo looked at him stunned. "Really? That's all?" She exclaimed.
Cas nodded. "Do we have an agreement?" He asked
"Yes!" Then she looked at Dean. "Dad? Are you...okay with this? I mean...I'm not grounded or anything?" She asked him
Dean looked up at her and smiled. "How can I ground you for something I would have done?" Dean said, cocking his eyebrow. Just then they heard the bunker door open and a few minutes later Charlie came walking in.
"Hey guys" She said, looking a bit antsy.
"Hey Charlie, what's up?" Dean said, watching Charlie hop from one foot to the other.
"We uh, Sam and I, we have a surprise!" She exclaimed, and quickly turned and ran from the room. Dean and Jo looked at each other in confusion. Until Sam came walking in, with something in his arms. It was wrapped in a blanket, and the blanket was moving. Dean shot Sam a look and narrowed his eyes.
"Sam, what the hell is that?" He said
"Something these kids should have had ages ago, Dean" He said, looking at Dean. "Also, something that you're not allergic to."
"Sam...you didn't" Dean said, just as the blanket in Sam's hand wriggled, and a small black and white head popped out from under the blanket. Dean closed his eyes, praying he was dreaming, as Jo shrieked and jumped from her chair.
"Oh my God! It's a puppy!" She exclaimed. Dean couldn't take it. He opened his eyes, and looked at Sam.
"Did you...did you take my car to get that?! Was that dog in my car, Sam?!" He exclaimed. Sam just smiled.
"Sort of, I mean, yes I took your car. But Charlie was with me, so technically, it never touched the seats." Sam said with a grin. Dean glared. Jo took the puppy from Sam's hands.
"What kind of dog is..." She held it up so she could see it's privates, "She?" She asked
"Yes, it's a female, and she's a Border Collie." Sam told her. Jo smiled.
"I'm going to go show Bobby!" She exclaimed and ran from the room with the pup in her arms.
"You just had to get them a dog, didn't you? I told you 'No', Sam" Dean said now. Sam shrugged.
"I know, but hey...I live here too, and I've always wanted a dog. You don't get to make all the rules, Dean." Sam said, and sauntered his large frame out of the room.
Dean got up and stormed from the room saying, "Great! Now I have to live with a dog!"
Cas and Charlie laughed.
