Yawning, I woke up from my deep slumber to frantic knocking on my front door. What the fuck? I arched my back and stretched my body out before sleepily putting a robe on. The person at the door was still knocking as I tied my bed hair up, out of my face.
It was too early from this shit. "IM COMING CALM DOWN!" I shouted walking up to my front door and looking through the peep hole. Vinnie, my next door neighbour was stood there. My face scrunched up in confusion as I unlocked my door and he welcomed himself in.
"My god, why did it take you so long to answer the door? Are you like hard of hearing?" He asked arms flailing about. Me and Vinnie don't have the best history of getting along. I guess we just clashed. I ignored what he said and walked to my kitchen to make myself some coffee. I was not in the mood for talking.
Waiting for him to tell why he was so frantic to come here I started putting my coffee in the machine. It was silent. I turned around in a huff, rolling my eyes. He was completely calm and was fixing his hair in my mirror.
"Well?" He swiftly turned around, confused. I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration. "Are you going to elaborate on why you are here? Or better yet, why you woke me up from my lovely sleep?" He looked at me and nodded before going to sit on my couch. A cheeky smile grew on his face.
"How would you like to go on an all expenses paid trip to Seattle for the weekend?" He asked enthusiastically. My eyebrows furrowed. We literally hate each other, why would he want to take me to his home town? "What? Why me?" I sat across him.
"I may or may not have told my mom that I have a girlfriend....and that I would take her to meet them on my brother's birthday..." He trailed off itching the back of his neck. My eyes narrowed. "Soooo would you do the honour of pretending to be my girlfriend for a few days?" My eyes narrowed even more. "Trust me you were my last option." I rolled my eyes and went to finish making my coffee. His eyes followed me as I walked, eagerly waiting for an answer.
I turned around and leaned on a kitchen cabinet. "What's in this for moi?" I asked doing the calculations in my head. He shrugged. I chuckled and turned back around. "Its gonna take a lot more than that to persuade me..." I said humorously. I heard him sigh as he walked and leaned against the counter beside me. "Do you still have the hots for that dude? What was his name?....Ethan? Or no, Evan. That was it." I looked up at him and he continued. "I, can help you woo him." I snorted and sipped my coffee.
"Woo him? Who are you my grandpa?" I said laughing. He looked at me and rolled his eyes with attitude. "Look are you going to do it or not?" He said getting impatient.
I paused and thought about it for a minute. Evan was really cute, and I have had a crush on him for ages and Vinnie is good friends with him. I turned to Vinnie and set my coffee down. "Fine." His eyes lit up and he suddenly grabbed my waist and picked me up, hugging me and jumping up and down, cheering. He noticed what he was doing and immediately put me down. Clearing his throat he looked at me and thanked me. We looked at each other in embarrassment after that sudden contact.
My eyes diverted from his and I reached for the bread to make some toast. "Im not doing this for you...I'm doing this for Evan." I said pointing a slice of bread at him.
