azure felt like a bucket of ice had been emptied over her head. panic swallowed her as her mind drew a blank at some sort of excuse for her change in scent.
thea cocked her head to the side as if silently asking for an explanation.
azure couldn't stop the tears that filled her eyes. she tried to swallow the sobs but it was in vain. she let out a startled sob and backed away until her small frame was against the door.
"t-t-thea. please don't tell a-anyone. i'm so sorry thea." she wailed out in between sobs.
"azure don't cry please. i just want to know why love." thea said moving quickly to hug her bestfriend.
thea pulled the tiny omega into her arms where azure sobbed and kept saying how sorry she was.
it took a while but after about 10 minutes the omega had calmed down enough to talk to her friend.
"I've always believed that no one would take me seriously because i am so tiny and an omega." she started.
"no one would think that i'm capable of much because i look so dainty and weak. before i moved here, i lived with my dad in the city. i was courted left and right by many alphas and the first thing they would say to me was "i know you need a strong alpha to take care of you." i hated it so much." she said while holding back a sob.
"i hated that they thought so little of me. they thought that i was incapable of taking care of and managing myself." she muttered as a few tears rolled down her face.
thea pulled her friend into another embrace while they were on the carpeted office floor.
thea understood the pain that azure must have felt because she understood and knew how powerful her bestie was. it really hurt her to know that azure felt so belittled for who she was.
"so when i moved here, i wanted to feel in control of my own fate and to be taken seriously. i'm so sorry i lied. i just thought that if anyone were to find out i would be ridiculed." she continued.
"babes you should know that the whole world could turn against you but never me. you are literally the most poweful person i know. you are so strong love. you do not deserve to feel belittled babe." thea spoke reassuringly.
"and i understand why you did what you did. a girl's gotta do what she gotta do sis." she said with a smile.
"thank you so much t. i love you so much bestie. you can't tell anyone though...I'd like to keep my secret." azure said.
"of course i won't tell anyone. but babe please understand that everyone in this town respects you babe. alphas, betas and omegas. people look up to you because they see how strong you are. it really doesn't matter here what you present as. you deserve respect and if i ever see those dickbag alphas who ever made you feel belittled i ought to kill them." thea said with a stern look.
azure sighed in relief and smiled at her friend.
"so how about you go to my apartment and find my scent hider. its in my underwear drawer." azure giggled.
"sure sis." thea said and took azure's car keys from her.
"actually why don't you just go home cause you certainly do not look well. you're super pale and you actually drove instead of walking. we'll watch happiest season which has k-stew as one of the lead roles. it literally just came out two weeks ago and its gAy." thea said in a sing-song voice and a grin.
"nooo that sounds so freaking cheesy!" sapphire exclaimed a laugh bubbling in her throat.
the two ladies had decided to go into the cafe every morning to drop of little notes with a heartfelt message from both of them and a slice of amethyst's pie.
surely azure would want to find out who her admirers were after a couple of days.
they would then give her an address to a cute restaurant for lunch after sometime and if she comes then boom they have her.
amethyst giggled crumpling up the roses are red poem she was writing, silently agreeing that it was super cheesy.
"okay how about: 'the first time we saw you we thought we had died and gone to heaven because standing in front of us was an angel' ?" amethyst thought out loud.
sapphire nodded her head excitedly.
"fuck yeah! that's exactly how i felt so its no lie."
"i love it. okay let ne write it. hand me that heart letter.", amethyst giggled with a pleased smile on her face.
sapphire and amethyst took turns writing each word if the letter. it felt more heartfelt and personal that way.
they signed the bottom of the letter with 'blurple'. they like how it sounded. it felt perfect to them and they hoped to was a hint enough for their omega.
"so how are we going to give her?" amethyst asked.
"okay so we just wrap up the pie and then put it in a cute little bag and drop the letter in there too. sound good?" sapphire suggested.
amethyst made a sound of agreement and nodded while she placed the unused cards into her file to use on other days. they had cut the heart shaped letters themselves so they were more special.
"alright now let's bake this pie!" amethyst said with a smile.
the two ladies baked a cherry pie with the occasional food fight.
"do you think she'll like it?" worry and doubt laced sapphire's voice.
"of course she will, love. don't stress." amethyst said closing the gap between them and kissing the blue eyed beauty.
they kissed softly and with hopefulness.
azure was their only girl. no one else would suit them is all they could think.
