Chapter 16

Cayla's POV:

I woke up and heard Quan in the shower. "Today is the day." I mumbled to myself then got out the bed to make breakfast for Quan one last time. I got into the kitchen and placed two bagels in the toaster then took out the bacon out of the fridge. "Good morning baby." Quan came out the bathroom and walked up to me, kissing my cheek. "Good morning." I replied then turned around to kiss him. I finished up the bacon and placed them in a plate on the side of the stove.

"You want your bagel with butter?" I asked and took the bagel out the toaster. "Yes please. I'm going to go get dressed. Wrap my bagel in a foil and pour some orange juice in a bottle for me please. Oh and make sure my coffee has a little bit of creamer in it. I love you!" He said and went back in the room to get dressed for work.

"I don't love you..."I mumbled to myself while I did what he asked me to do. When I finished getting his breakfast packed and ready to go, I sat down and read the paper and ate my breakfast. "Thanks for making my breakfast. I will see you when I get home." He said and grabbed his breakfast off the counter then came around to give me a kiss.

I kissed him back and he left the house. I watched him drive out the lot and turned the corner and I instantly grew excited.

"Gabi! It's time to go!" I yelled out and went into the room where she was awake looking around the room. I picked her up and went over to the closet to get the phone. I called Flo's number and it rang a few times before she picked up. "You ready for this?" She asked and I smiled.

"Hell yeah!" I said and placed Gabi on her play mat so I could pack up our things. "Should I leave my house now?" Flo asked.

"Yeah. Call me when you're outside."

"Okay boo! Stay safe." Flo said and hung up the phone. I packed the last of our things and left all the bags on the side of the bedroom door. Just then I heard the locks on the door and the door open to the house.

"Hello?" I called out and Quan answered. I grabbed the bags and stuffed them in the closet hoping Quan wouldn't go in.

"Baby I forgot my suit jacket. I'm so late for work!" I heard him say while coming into the room. I took a seat next to Gabi on the floor and acted like I was playing with her.

"Ohh I knew you probably forgot something." I said. He came in the room and went straight to the closet and opened it. He stood there shuffling through the clothes and finally found the jacket he wanted.

He paused and stared at the closet. "Babe where are all your things?" He turned back around and looked at me with fury in his eyes. Sh*t he's on to me... I said in my head.

"I ummm put my clothes in the wash...they were smelling a little funky. I was going to dry clean your suits...calm down." I lied. I was so scared I'm sure I probably stuttered more than once. "Ohh...okay. I thought you were trying to leave me." He came closer and squatted.

"I will never leave you." I lied again. Thank god he believed me or else I would of gotten beaten up right here. He kissed me on my lips and stood up. "I love you."

"I love you too." I smiled. He kissed Gabi on her head and left the room. I waited and listened out for the door to close and I made my way to the kitchen and looked out the window to watch him pull off. I said a little prayer and went back into the room to play with Gabi until Flo called.

A few minutes later and she finally called and told me she was walking up the stairs to my house. "I'm walking to the door now." I told her and slid the diagram of how to unlock the lock under the door.

"Thanks." I heard her say from behind the door. I stood there and listened to her trying to unlock the door and finally it burst opened and hit me in the face a little.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" Flo said patting my face making sure I was okay. "It's okay. Come help me with the bags." I said and ran into the room.

"My baby!!" Flo cooed and picked Gabi up and kissed her all over he face. She started giggling and wiggled in her arms.

I picked up two bags and ran downstairs to Flo's car and packed them in the backseat. I ran back up the stairs and went back in the room and got Gabi's crib and other things that I needed. I made two more trips and finally finished packing all my things in the cars.

I looked around the room one last time and slammed down a picture of Quan and I at the park. "Well damn girl! You broke the man's picture frame." Flo said while we walked out the house.

"Florianne, I really don't give a flying f*ck! I don't care for this house or the man that lives in it." I laughed.

She turned and looked at me with wide eyes. "Well damn Cayla! Let's hurry up and go before that man comes back." She said.

I closed the door and locked it the way Quan did all the time when he would leave the house. We jogged down to my car and Flo placed Gabi in her car seat.

"Thank you so much Flo! I love you sis!" I said and gave her a kiss on the cheek and and tight hug. "I love you too girl and you're very welcome. I'll see you at the house." She said then left to get into her car.

I pulled out and followed her to her house and decided I should go to see my mother tomorrow and explain to her what has been going on and apologize to her. But I have to be very careful doing that because Quan might show up there to look for me...that's one thing I didn't think about.

What if he hurts my mother again? I can't let that happen.

Quan's POV:

I arrived home after a long day at work and the house was in darkness. "Cayla baby I'm home!" I yelled out but there was no answer. I turned on the light and it was a little cold in here....too cold.

I walked into the bedroom and no one was inside. "CAYLA!" I yelled out and still no answer. She probably went to the dry cleaners.

But then again how would she get out the house to go...

I ran into the room and into the closet to see her clothes were still missing and my suitss were still there. "This dumb bitch!" I yelled and pulled on a few suits. I turned around and saw Gabi's crib gone.

"THAT DIRTY ASS LESBIAN BITCH!!" I screamed and started knocking down everything that was on the dresser. How dare she do this to me!! I can't believe she would try to leave like that after I was being nice to her...

I know what I need to do now. She's not going to just up and leave me like this.

"Hello? India?" I said into the phone.

"Hey what's up?"

"She left me. SHE F*CKING LEFT!" I yelled and kicked the bed. "Calm down negro! Don't worry! Most likely she'll be at he mother's house so check there." India said.

I took a few breaths and sat down on the floor. "India you told me you would handle this!"

"I am! Quantell you just have to be patient. Everything would fall into place soon. I have a plan up my sleeve..."

I hung up the phone tired of hearing about her stupid plans that never work out in my favor...
