It's my day off and I feel like a zombie. Theodore and I had made plans to go out but all I really wanted to do was sleep. I've canceled on him twice already this week both times using the excuse that I was tired and needed to catch up on some sleep. Theodore didn't seem to mind when I asked to stay back and sleep, in fact I think he almost enjoyed it. I digress, at least we weren't going back to the bar out by his sisters, I was told it would be dinner and a movie if we were feeling up to it afterwards.

It is nearing six and I haven't gotten out of bed since after lunch minus the small exceptions made to go smoke a cigarette or use the bathroom. Violet had made sure to check on me about once every hour or so making sure I wasn't running up a temperature or simply as if I was going to disappear. I didn't mind it much after a while since my mind had been consumed with the thought of ghosts of boyfriends past.

"Sophia," Violet spoke softly. I rolled over on my side as I propped myself up on my elbow, watching as Violet stood in the doorway with her arms crossed against her chest. "Theodore just got back. He said to tell you that he wants to take a shower and wash the day off before he calls upon you."

"'Before he calls upon me?'" I laughed as I lightly rubbed the remaining remnants of sleep and boredom out of my eyes. "What? Is this the 1920's?"

"Just shut up and get ready." Violet sighed. "He doesn't usually take that long when he's in the shower." She smirked slyly as she walked out of the bedroom only to pop back in a moment later and say, "Oh and he said to wear something nice. Take something out of my closet if you must."

"Wait, Violet!" I called out. "What did you mean by 'wear something nice'? Nice as in what? Clubbing or party attire, or casually sexy or dinner and a movie sexy or staying at a hotel for a weekend sexy?"

"Just put on a dress and some heels. I'll be out in the common area when you're ready for me to do your hair and makeup." She replied as she walked out into the common area.

I shook my head already not comfortable with the idea of wearing a dress out in the Fall weather. I climbed down from my bed as gracefully as I could without stumbling into Darlene's bunk. I searched through both Violet's and my closet trying to find something casually sexy.

After going in between closets for almost fifteen minutes, I had chosen a pair of light blue skinny jeans that accentuated the curves in my thighs to match nicely along with a pastel pink shoulderless, long sleeve shirt. It didn't show much skin but I was relieved with how I felt. I picked out a pair of 2kt gold hoop earrings and a matching diamond necklace that I had recently bought from a saleswoman that lived inside the shelter. Violet waltzed into the room after I had just clasped the last earring shut, with a cup of cold water in her hand.

"Oh good, you're awake and ready." She smiled, lowering the cup of water to her side and returning to a peaceful stance. I took a deep breath, fighting off the nerves and the anxiety that threatened to bubble over. "Great outfit choice, by the way."

"Thank you." I plastered a fake smile on my face and gave myself a once over. "Is Theodore almost ready?"

"I don't know but if we don't hurry up and do your hair I probably won't have enough time to do your makeup." Violet ordered. "Are you ready?"

A half an hour later as Violet was putting the finishing touches on my face, Diana strolled into the women's common area telling us that I had been summoned by Theodore. I glanced between the clock hanging up on the wall, Violet and the bathroom. I had three separate plans but only one would have been the right choice. As I stepped out into the lobby I saw Theodore standing a few feet away, in a black collared T-Shirt and Levi's dark blue jeans and dress shoes. He looked handsome and I almost didn't recognize him without his usual hat hanging over his head.
