"Thank you, Theodore. I had a lot of fun this weekend." I smiled at him. We sat in his truck in the parking lot of the shelter. It's about two in the afternoon and Violet has been blowing up our phones all morning.

"It was no problem at all." He grinned handsomely as he puffed on his cigarette. "Thank you for telling me about all of that. I know it wasn't easy."

I looked towards the shelter already feeling the dread sinking into the pit of my stomach. There was a bit of snow on the ground, the weather has gotten noticeably colder over the weekend. I didn't like the cold but I loved the rain. If I could replace the winter snow for rain and cloudy weather for six months I would.

"It wasn't but at the same time it was easier than I thought it would be." I admitted, the corners of my mouth quirking upwards. "I feel like I can trust you. You make me feel safe and well if I am being honest, I haven't been happier in a long time."

I looked over at Theodore, smile spreading across my face. I didn't know he was through smoking his cigarette until he reached over to caress my face.

"I can say the same about you, Sophia. I have been single for more than ten years and I can tell you for the first time in my life I found someone that actually calms me down." He answered honestly, taking my hands in his. "I like you a lot."

"I like you a lot too, Theodore." He leaned in closer as he captured my lips in his own. His tongue slid along my bottom lip begging for entrance. A tapping sound on the window had startled us causing Theodore to bite my bottom lip harshly. I gasped, tasting the iron as it entered my mouth. He stormed out of the truck angrily. I laughed at them both as I gathered my belongings and got out of the truck.

"I thought I told you to wait, Violet!" He yelled at her though she didn't look phased at all. Instead she stood with her arms pressed against her chest - pushing her breasts up perfectly - as she stared at Theodore blankly. Yup, I was happy to be back.

"I waited a whole weekend! I want my girl time, Theodore!" Violet demanded before bursting into fit of laughter.

"Hey guys." I didn't feel bad about interrupting their argument. As much as I enjoyed watching it I didn't have the time or patience to deal with it afterwards. "While you continue with your bickering I am going to go inside, change, maybe take a nap."

"What?" Violet objected, stomping her foot against the gravel. "But I wanted to go shopping and get my nails done probably my hair too!"

I rolled my eyes at Violet watching as her lower lip turned outwards. She was pouting and it was cute. Though I was already annoyed with the idea of shopping, I guess I could hangout with her for a little while.

"I'm saying wait a couple of minutes shower and get dressed. If I am getting my nails done I want to at least try and resemble a woman."

"Alright fine." She pouted crossing her arms against her chest childishly.

"Whatever." Theodore shook his head, a deep and throaty chuckle. "While you guys are out doing that I am going to go lay down and stay away from the crazies."

It didn't take a genius to notice how quickly Theo's mood seemed to shift into a downward spiral whenever he was here at the shelter. He kept to his shared room as much as he could and didn't really care for any social interaction. Theodore was feeling the same thing that I was when we entered the parking lot. A deep sinking feeling being at the worlds most cluttered and unorganized homeless shelter in Minnesota.

"Hey! I take offense to that statement. I am not crazy!" I paused, noticing how quickly Violet and Theodore had wanted to make a snarky comment. "I'm insane. There's a big difference."
