Alexa ran as fast as she could away from the barn. 'If I find Ritsu soon, then I can go back even sooner and help fight that weirdo.' She ran around the nearby fields, looking around in the dark for any sign of Ritsu. Eventually, she neared the town and thought of the Takumis.

"Miharu is probably hurt somewhere, why didn't Midori tell me to find her?! Wouldn't she need help?" Alexa shook her head. "No, I have to trust Midori," she told herself. 'I've only been a magical girl for four months; she knows more than me. What the heck even is this "true fate of a magical girl"?!'

Alexa felt so confused. "Ring-snatching? Memory loss? And who on earth is Allyson?!" she kept asking aloud, annoyed by the situation in general. 'No. I have to trust Midori! I have to keep going and find Ritsu like she said. I have to prove that I'm not just some lame newbie!'

Suddenly, a burst of red light came from a far-off distance. Alexa turned and realised that it was from where she last left her friends. She quickly transformed her gem into its egg-like form and checked it just in case someone had been killed. She gulped when she noticed that 'one signal is missing.'

Alexa shook her head. "Midori must've won! I bet she was able to kill that creep." She forced herself to focus on the task at hand instead of worrying. Despite knowing that Miharu wasn't able to detect Ritsu's gem previously, she attempted to do so. Alexa noticed that there was another magical girl not far away from where she was.

"That must be her!" she said with triumph, trying to pick up speed. She glared at the moon. "Geez, you never give me enough energy. At least you're not just a sliver."

Alexa kept running. With the lack of sunlight, her energy to move was ebbing away, but her drive to keep going somehow didn't disappear as it normally would have. She checked her gem again. The signal was closer. Much closer. She made her way through a dense patch of corn. Suddenly, she noticed that the corn stalks were damaged, as if someone was recently there. Alexa cautiously followed the tracks through some pushed down corn stocks until it reached an end. There, at the end of the corn field, was a dip in the earth, slowly sloping down towards a creek. Subtle sled tracks followed the slightly inclined surface down to the little water bank. However, there was no sled in sight... just Ritsu, laying face first in the dirt.

Alexa wasn't phased by this. 'She's probably out cold or playing dead, like last time.' she thought. She walked over to her and rolled Ritsu on her back. She brushed the dirt off the girl's face and looked at her. Alexa then checked the young girl's pulse. "Yep, just playing dead again. She'll be fine." She looked around for the brunette's soul gem, and instantly spotted something out of place.

In the small girl's hand was a green gem.

It was morning now. The sun was beginning to rise. Slowly, the light caused Runa to barely become conscious. Everything was fuzzy. She couldn't feel anything. She nearly slipped back into her coma when she heard something. She hardly had the energy to open her eyes, but she did, and forced herself to turn her head towards the direction of the sound. Her vision was blurry, but she could see someone coming towards her. She closed her eyes again, unable to keep them open for long.
