the second tape

liv.

"what happened up there" olivia asks while i make my way down the stairs.

"he's just so-"

"we're gonna go talk to him while you ladies spill the tea" zach cuts me off, acting like a girl.

all the boys make their way upstairs, minus eben. i make my way down the dark corridor facing all the girls.

"eben... you gonna ?" i say pointing upstairs.

"oh nah, girl talk is way more interesting" he smiles.

all the girls laugh.

"as you were saying" kiara says to me.

"oh. he's just so difficult, it's like i always say the wrong thing around him then he just gets mad. he's been like this ever since we've been back." i say, tears starting to form in my eyes.

"what we're you guys arguing about this time?" kiara asks.

"who do you think" i say rolling my eyes.

"oh so it's a who" kenzie says.

"zach" olivia says.

i make a face toward her and the girls, symbolizing that she was right.

"why was there an argument about a boy who doesn't mean anything to us anymore, more importantly to you" olivia says getting annoyed with daniels behavior.

"i don't kno- wait you don't think" i end my sentence getting up and running over to the box where we kee all the movies we don't want the boys touching.. ya know like romcoms and stuff.

"liv what are you doin-"

"shut up and give me a second" i snap.

i get up with the tape in my hand and head over to the dvd player and put it in so it connects to the tv.

"liv what if the boys come down" olivia says getting up and trying to take the tape out.

"olivia stop"

"why should i, liv this is insane put it away. they can't know" she says.

"i have a feeling they already do" i say playing the tape.

"what?"
"huh?"
"no way"

the girls say all together, eben silent.

"how would they know, did you tell them?" kiara asks.

"just look" i say rewinding the tape.

....

"is that-"
"it can't be we were all in livs room"
"no way it's him"
"what the hell"

we were all silent.

scared.

then olivia got up.

"olivia where are you going" i ask her as she walks up stairs.

she didn't answer me.

i went upstairs into daniel and livs room.

"you four. downstairs. now... you stay here" i say pointing to the boys then to daniel.

i make my way downstairs with the four boys not far behind me. i can hear liv and kiara trying to get the tape out before the boys came down. but there was a reason they had to see it.

"what the fuck"
"guys"
"how"
"how'd you get that"

"corbyn.. youre the most honest one here. so please tell me who you see in that video"

"i don't know" he says back.

"jonah?"

"no idea" he says.

"jack?"

"and why would i know?"

"zach? .. don't you dare lie to me"

"i have no idea"

"all four of you, get the hell out and take your blonde friend upstairs with you" i say walking out back sitting by the fire.

liv.

"what the hell is her problem" jack asked.

"she just found out that we welcomed you guys into this house with open arms. and you betrayed our trust in the biggest way possible. so .. any of you care to save your bestfriends ass and tell me why this tape shows him on the hospital cameras walking in after the ambulance with mr. Anderson arrived? or are you guys just gonna lie straight to my face again" i say with tears coming out of my eyes, drenching my shirt.

"you saw the tape liv, you saw zach-"

"no, what i saw was an edited video. a video corbyn edited to make it seem like zach did it. so tell me corbyn .. where's the actual tape. because i assume it's playing right now on my tv" i say walking over to him.

"how do you even know that tape is real, where did you get it" zach asked.

"you want me to believe that a tape straight from the Ridgefield police department is just ... fake ?" i ask

"we showed you the tape from the police department" jack added.

"did you? i'd like to assume you did until this tape showed up on my doorstep this morning, also from the Ridgefield police department." i say holding up a different tape.

"would you like me to play it for you" i added.

"liv when did you get that" kiara asked.

"you didn't hear me? this morning there was a knock on the door, but instead of a police officer, it was a tape. and in this tape is the truth... so now is your chance to fess up." i say.

"i did it, is that what you wanted to hear" everyone turns to face him.

"i thought you were supposed to stay in the room bro" zach asks.

"i was thirsty but that's beside the point. i should've known you would've found out eventually, shouldn't have underminded your smartness" he says getting closer.

"stay away from me" i say backing up.

"we need to talk" he says.
