This is really, really short, but it's been in my drafts forever and i have no inspiration to continue it 😭 so i'm just gonna leave it how it is
BABY
I haven't done much all day, Johnny was gone all morning and he got home around noon. I was currently doing some laundry. I took the folded clothes off of the top of the dryer and threw them in a basket. I make my way through the house to head upstairs to bring my daughters clothes into her room.
I walk down the hallway to her room and the door is open. The lights inside are dim and I see Johnny in her rocking chair swaying her back and fourth. He leans down and kisses her softly. Since he's turned to the side and not towards me, I decide to just watch for a while. I carefully set the laundry basket down and lean on the door frame. She starts to whine quietly and Johnny sits up to shift the position she's holding her.
"Shhh, it's okay, baby." He kisses her multiple times. "I'm here." She snuggles up to his chest. "Aww, I love you so much." He whispers. Johnny lifts her up once again and kisses her nose and carefully brings her back down. "You look so much like your mom...and she's the most beautiful person I know. Absolutely gorgeous...I love her so much, just as much as I love you you...yes I do." He chuckles silently.
I melt at the cuteness of the sight, I don't want to ruin it, but I pick up the laundry basket and walk in as quietly as I can. I walk over to her dresser which is beside the chair. I look down at Johnny and give a cute smile as I open a drawer.
"Hey, baby." He says calmly and reaches out and rubs my lower back softly, his opposite hand holds our daughters head.
"Hello, darling" I reply as I put the tiny clothing up in her drawers. I close the drawer as silently as I can. I look down at our daughter and she's sound asleep sucking on a pacifier. "Wow, you should put her asleep more often." I whisper and give a little sly smile. He stands up from the rocking chain.
"Whatever I can do to help, gorgeous." He says smiling while looking around my face. He leans in and gives me a quick kiss. He walks over to her crib and lays her down carefully in it. He puts a little stuffed toy next to her and rubs her cheek carefully with the back of his fingers. "Goodnight." He says as he admires her. I begin to walk out of the room and turn to see him still looking at her and placing more tiny stuffed animals around her.
"Johnny." I whisper in a forceful, yet playful tone. "Come on, baby." I giggle silently. He looks me and back down at her. "She's going to need to go to sleep for as long as possible." I smile and wink. I reach out my hand for his. He runs over and carefully grabs my hand. I walk in front of him and he pats my butt lightly before closing the door carefully.
"Let's have a date night." He says as he walks directly behind me, caressing my hips. Johnny kisses the top of my head.
"Date night?"
"Yeah, let's just watch a movie together...like we used to when we first started dating." He says and I smile. "You know," We begin to walk down the stairs. "you would come over to my house at night. We haven't done that in forever, baby."
"Of course I'm down for that." I chuckle lightly and kiss his soft lips.
