07: TRUTH HURTS

Angelina played with her food absent-mindedly, it was lunch and her best friend had not arrived yet. Tom was done with lunch and sat beside Angelina reading her Astronomy essay and correcting it if needed. The sound of the door's echoed through the great hall; Angelina's head snapped up to only see her friend, Liliana Grace Malfoy. She got up and stood there waiting or Lily to join her, Lily sprinted across the Great Hall and engulfed Angelina into a hug.

"I missed you!" Lily exclaimed.

"I missed you too! Come there's still time for dessert." The two girls chatted until then starting of the next lectures, Tom had excused himself to the library before handing Angelina her essay which he said was written marvelously. Angelina told Lily everything that happened in her absence minus the chamber of secrets; she told Lily how Tom became so protective of her and how he touched her lovingly. Lily, of course, said that Tom's in love with her pretty friend but the pretty girl denied it.

"Less talk about me, tell me how was Albania? How's your family doing there?" Angelina asked Lily.

"Albania is cold all year round and my family's doing well too." Lily's mother was a pureblood witch from Albania who married a Malfoy and had Lily and her older brother Zeus. To Angelina, Lily had the perfect family; she had loving parents and a protective older brother. Her perfect was something Angelina envied, she wasn't perfect after all, and she wanted normal things as well.

"I got your birthday present; I can't wait to give it to you." Lily gushed; she was really good at giving presents, Angelina picked up some tricks from her when it came to shopping.

"It's only on Saturday, you can survive two days Liliana." Angelina smirked at her," Well I have to go complete some homework and have Astronomy in the evening. We'll catch up more later."

On her way to the library, Angelina bumped into Zeus Malfoy. Angelina noticed he had gotten taller, his brown hair was styled messily, and he wore a perfectly altered suit and looked rather handsome. Angelina and Zeus used to be a thing in her fourth year before Tom had caught Zeus making out with a blonde Slytherin and told Angelina, she broke up with him the second she found him the next day. It was the talk of the week, that the 'it' girl Angelina Arlo got cheated on but nobody dared to say that in front of her, on the other hand they thought awful things about her.

She muttered a 'sorry' and brushed past him without paying him any mind.

Astronomy was more of leisure than an actual class for Tom and Angelina, they sat on some fine plush cushions and observed the sky. The sky was clear but it was awfully cold.

"Can anyone here point out the star Pleione?" Professor Sinistra asked.

A girl from Hufflepuff pointed it out. Professor Sinistra was a young teacher, she had graduated Hogwarts herself about three years ago, she was a Ravenclaw, Angelina remembered. She was the prefect who guided her on her first day at Hogwarts. She was still young and beautiful of course, Angelina and she used to converse occasionally.

"Can someone point out Merope?" Professor Sinistra questioned.

Tom stiffened beside Angelina; Merope was Tom's mother's name. Angelina knew that too of course.

"Professor it's right there, to the south of Pleione." Angelina almost immediately answered.

"You make good observations, Ms. Arlo." The teacher praised but Angelina wanted to get out of class today and hopefully drag Tom along with her. Angelina raised her hand.
