Although at the begining Beth had criticized it, after a while, she already accepted and even got excited with her friend's new adventure.
- We should go out, like on a double date - she proposed - It would be nice.
- I don't know - Jeanie doubted - I don't think we're on the place for that. At least not for the moment.
- Aren't you a couple?
- Not really - she said - We're friends with benefits. Nothing else.
- Then go out with us, as friends! Please! I really want to share with him.
- Why? I thought you had decided not to like him.
- But you're my friend and I love you. Besides, he proved that he cares about you. So... I'm trying to like him.
- He is good - Jeanie assured - But don't lie to me. You already like him.
- Well... He cares... So...
- So you will get along with him.
- That means we're going out!
- Don't rush! Let me see what I can do.
- Do it for me, please!
- Ok!
Jeanie took her mobile and wrote to him:
- Beth and her boyfriend want to go out with us. No commitments. I didn't promise anything.
- Do you want us to go?
- I prefer to be with you, even if we don't go out.
- But... We can go.
- I won't get angry if you say no.
- Women always get angry when we don't make their will. We'll go, just give me the details.
- Pick me up at the apartment at eight o'clock.
- See you there then.
Jeanie was extremely happy about his answer, but she didn't want to overreact because they were only friends and she wasn't ready to ruin that.
- So... - Beth looked at her with question marks on her eyes - What did he say?
- We'll go out tonight - Jeanie smiled.
- That's great! Are you sure you'll only go out as friends?
- Yes, I'm sure and yes, we are friends.
- That's not so great. I think you really like him, but you deserve a little more attention.
- Precisely because I like him, I know he gives me the necessary attention. His way of being... Is somehow exciting!
- Well, if you feel comfortable.
- Look, at public view, we're just friends. What happens inside is not anybody's business. I told you and Krystal because you're my best friends. I don't mind you told to your boyfriend; but I need no one else to know. We are from each other and nothing else matters. Our complicity is perfect! At least it is for me... And I really want to keep it that way.
- Are you falling in love with him?
- I can't do that.
- You can't control your feelings either! And you're talking about him like... How can't you be in love with him if you're willing to give your life for him?
- I would also give my life for you. You're my friend and... I love you more than I will ever love any guy! - Jeanie joked.
- Very funny - she laughed - I love you too. That's why I don't want you to get hurt.
- I won't. Don't worry. I'm stronger than I seem.
- Ok. If you say so...
- Beth, I know you worry about me, but don't. Just sing the song - she smiled.
- Which song? - Beth doubted.
- Don't worry! Be happy! - she mocked.
The night arrived soon and Jeanie got dressed for the occasion. It was cold and they were going bowling, so she got inside a red blouse, a black sweater, black jeans and trainers. She also got a red and black scarf just in case. This time she picked her hair up on a pony tail and used a natural make-up. Her friends dressed similar, Krystal wore a very sexy sports outfit and Beth wore matching t-shirts with her boyfriend.
Reid didn't know where they were going, so he dressed half-formal: white sweater, black jeans and a sexy coat that matched his eyes.
Jeanie almost lost her breath when she saw him standing at the door at eight o'clock, smiling at her.
- Hi - she said.
- Hi - Reid smiled.
- You're very punctual - Krystal pointed out.
- She told me we were going out early to be back soon. You have a conference tomorrow.
- Ok father - Beth joked - Let's go.
Jeanie didn't know how to bowl, she had never been good at sports, so Reid taught her. She tried to teach Krystal, but neither of them got better at it, causing Beth's and her boyfriend's laughter. After several failures, the girls got tired and decided to seat near the place their friends keept enjoying.
- He is nice - Krystal smiled to Jeanie while she drank her beer.
- He is - she smiled watching him win to Beth's boyfriend.
- They pay the next round - Reid came to them while he fingerpointed Beth, who had lost the bet.
- He is cheater! - Beth complained - He faked he was a bad player and he won!
- I told you I was just warming up when you mocked at me - he defended himself - You were the one who wanted to bet.
- Ok, ok - she accepted seating down - This time we'll pay, but we don't trust you anymore - she joked.
They spent a great time and Jeanie was happy. They were sharing with their friends and Reid acted more sociable than she would expected, so a small light started shining on her eyes.
About eleven they decided to leave. As Reid had said, they had lessons at the other day.
