That was a very interesting Saturday for Reid. He woke up feeling weird, but didn't mind it and kept on with his weekend's habits: the one he mechanically followed and didn't require much thoughts. He dressed up ready to go out for groceries (his fridge was almost empty) and at the moment he took his keys, the bell rang. A flash idea of Jeanie coming back went through his mind, but he discarded it fastly, so soon he didn't even remember he had it as soon as he opened the door and saw Denisse standing there.
- Hello - she said with a little shaky voice - Were you going out? - she looked at him with attention seeing how he was dressed.
- Yes, but come in - he took a step aside to invite her in - I thought you would call me before coming.
- I'm sorry - she said without paying much attention while she looked around the house with inquisitive glance - I should've done it, but not even I was aware I would come today.
- Well... - he yearned without knowing very well what to say - You knows where your things are. I haven't move them.
- I'm not here to pick them up - she confessed.
- What are you talking about? - he doubted confused.
- Can we talk? - she asked taking a seat and asking him to do the same.
- Sure. Although I have nothing to say. I listen.
- Do you really have nothing to say? - she yearned.
- I think I had said all... All the times - he looked at her full of doubts - I thought none of those times mattered.
- I'm sorry Reid - she spoke a little louder - It's that you are...
- I'm what? - he pinched her.
- You are... You are someone I can't get over for much as I try.
- Denisse... - he yearned - Where do you want to go? You left. You decided you didn't want to be part of my life anymore and nothing of what I told you convinced you. What changed now?
- I know you're not alone - she looked around the place again searching for a sign that confirmed her suspicions, but couldn't find it.
- Well, no - he confessed - I'm not alone.
- Well, you did go through the mourning pretty fast - she complained.
- I spent months waiting for you to came back and you didn't! I'm in all my right to move on with my life, with or without you.
- But...
- But what?
- I haven't.
- And should I wait for you to move on with your life to keep on with mine? - he got angry.
- That's not what I mean... - she longed - I mean that... I haven't because although I deny it thousands time to myself, I don't want to be without you. I need us to try it again.
- Are you sure?
- Yes... But...
- What?
- I want you to pay attention to me, more than before.
- I will.
- What about your new relationship?
- It's not serious. She'll understand.
- Then... Can I stay?
- Sure - he smiled and didn't bother to think what to say to Jeanie when he saw her.
Denisse got into the shower and came out dressed up with house clothes. The top blouse showed more of her breasts than what it covered and the small short left nothing to imagination sticking out her curves.
When Reid came back and saw her sleeping on the bed they shared for so long, his heartbeats went faster and her glance got brighter. He never imagined he loved her that much; or maybe he didn't allow himself to think about it to avoid the pain on that lost. But in that moment he could only stare at her and smile as the first time he heard her saying she loved him; and like that all his doubts went away.
