-Floris's POV-
"Floris? Where are you?" Toby called out as he walked into the gym. "UP HERE!" I called as he looked at me, face palming. "So, I wanted to try something new... It didn't work out." I said, disappointed in myself. "Jump down!" Toby suggested. "I can't my tail is stuck..." I tried moving, but my tail was caught in the net of the basketball hoop as I hung upside down, hanging onto the basketball hoops rim with my hands as my feet dangled in an awkward position in the air.
"Here! Catch!" Toby threw a clean pair of scissors up. "Thanks!" I said, slowly cutting the net as I felt my hands starting to slip. "Uhh Toby-" The net broke as I fell onto the ground, my back hurting a little, but not as much as expected. I stood up, cracking any bones that dislocated themselves back into place. "A-Are you alright Floris? That was... A long fall..." I looked upwards seeing it was in fact a great drop.
"Let's just go back to the others, alright?" Toby nodded, agreeing. We both began walking back, as it wasn't very far. Once we stepped inside the room, George and Nick were surrounding Tommy. We rushed over quickly to see what was going on. I watched as Tommy stirred, seeming barely awake. He didn't speak, Tommy just stared at Nick for some weird reason. "Uhh, is he ok?" I asked. "We don't know... I don't know if anything we gave him had any side effects or not..."
Tommy then reached his hand out, grabbed at Nick's shirt, then closed his eyes and passed out again. We just looked at one-another, very confused as to what just happened. "So... What should we do now?" Toby asked. "Well, maybe we should search all the rooms on the first floor and bring anything important to the second floor since it seems safer." I said, with everyone agreeing.
We departed as Toby and I just explored, not doing much more. We found many classrooms which were empty other then all of the textbooks. We continued to search until we found a new room, turning the light on, still shocked the power worked. I looked around this new found room seeing it was filled with a bunch of wood. It was like a closet, except it wasn't. It seemed like a normal classroom, other then the fact it had hundreds of pieces of wood lying everywhere.
I ran in, thinking we could use the wood to board up the doors, until I saw a pool of blood underneath the pile of planks. I felt it, as it still felt fresh. I moved some of the planks with Toby, still confused as to what we saw underneath. "What is that? I've never seen anything like it." I poked the strange dog. It was dead, but it had six legs, and I knew that this dog was not normal.
"Let's come back here later..." I said, Toby agreed as we continued onward. Then, Toby and I looked at one another as the smell of food filled our noses. We both smiled as we saw the cafeteria up ahead. We quickly ran towards it, although I was faster than Toby, by a lot. I quickly made it inside, spotting a vending machine and running towards it. Seeing we needed money, I tried kicking the machine, only for nothing to happen. "I HAVE FIFTY PENCE!!!" Toby yelled, eventually making it next to me. He took off his shoe and removed the coins. "Why do you have money in your shoe?"
"Well, once I was worried I might get lost, so I keep money in my shoe to take the bus, just in case I needed to take it to get back home." I looked at the vending machine, looking at all the foods. I angrily hit the machine as it wobbled a little, seeing we didn't have enough to get anything. I backed away pulling Toby away as well. "Lets see if they have any foods in the kitchen, they must have something, right?" Toby nodded as we headed over to the kitchen, which was opened thankfully. I looked at the loads of canned corn and peas, along with the fresh potatoes, I mean, it hasn't been very long since the apocalypse started.
"We should make a meal for everyone for when Clay and Tommy wake up!" Toby looked at me with a sparkle of hope in his eyes. "Yeah, that's a good idea, but... What are we supposed to make?" Toby had a strange look, as if he was deep in thought. We looked around at all the foods, not seeing too much of an option. "What if we made baked potatoes and peas?" Toby suggested. I looked around seeing that was the only option for a proper meal. I smiled seeing a few jugs of orange juice. Since it was probably around 1pm now, this could be a lunch for the the others.
