Hello, this is Author-san. This is only my second time writing a fanfic and the first time for an omegaverse. pls don't judge if I don't meet ur expectations.

I will now give a brief explanation of how omegaverses work, pay attention if it's ur first omegaverse, skip the rambling if uve read this before.

I'm going with the simplest, it is a world where humans regardless of male and female have three main gender dynamics:

Alpha - Generally sitting in higher social class and hierarchy in the whole AU. Getting better opportunities during work and schooling etc. They are more dominant when finding a mate or partner. ( Roughly 20% of the whole population)

Beta - Basically humans but can detect an omega's pheromones and heat. ( making 65% which is the most of the population)

Omega - Normally the lowest of the low in social status. They are commonly considered useless except for breeding and sexual pleasures. Sometimes they are illegally traded into bidders as sex slaves etc. But since the world is kinda developed now, there are omega protective services set up around the world in order to protect this gender. However, their population has still dwindled to near extinction. They are considered prized mates for prestigious alpha families for futures heirs. They tend to be weak and easy to manipulate. (Only taking up 5% of the world's population)

Definitions to know:

Heat - A period of 4-7 days that occurs every month that an omega has. It begins with fever, mild cramping, increased slick*(pls search for further details), and increased pheromone production. Different omegas may have reactions when they have their heats. however, commonly, their whole body becomes completely sexually active with a conception rate of 100% if given. the release of the omega pheromones during a heat is generally overwhelming for alphas thus making them very vulnerable during this period as a subject to rape and sexual abuse.

Preheat - A period of 3-5 days before a heat. Omegas may sleep more during a pre-heat to conserve the energy they will need for their heat, and often find themselves overheating mildly, especially while asleep. Pre-heat ends when the Omega goes fully into heat.

Rut - A period spanning from 7-10 days that an alpha has every three months. They become more sexually active, violent, and dominant over their partners and things.

Pair/mate - When normally, an alpha and an omega decide to love each other or stay together, they become a pair or mates. Normally by doing that, they form a bond.

Bond - This usually comes in a form of a bite-mark, most of the time it is on an omega done by their partnered alpha as a symbolism of dominance. The most commonly known location of the bonding mark is at the base of the neck where the scent glands are.

Scent Glands - They are the areas where alpha and omegas release their pheromones. As said before, some are located on the base of the neck. others, wrists, cheeks, and, for omegas, genitals. In claiming a mate, alphas will generally rub their face and hands on the face and neck of their chosen omega, as an additional warning to other alphas that this omega is claimed.

Suppressants - Usually coming in the form of pills, Omegas and alphas take them to suppress their heats and ruts. It does not make the heats ad ruts disappear and may only slightly lower the effects. To some omegas, Suppressants wouldn't work at all. In some cases, suppressants may even be harmful to a body causing cancer etc.

Scent blockers - For omegas and alphas that would apply as a lotion, adhesive etc. It blocks their scent glands thus stopping their pheromones from being released. the more they apply, the more they will seem like betas.

Slick - A substance secreted by omegas when in heat. It is a very sweet smelling fluid that is semi-translucent. When tasted, it is very sweet(often described in multiple AUs). It is basically a form of self-lubrication for omegas. (i copied that off google)

If ur still there, just letting u know, u might wanna skip the prologue. It's kinda boring but the story might make a little more sense if u read it. Anyway, just quickly browse through it. It's not that important.
