Sam sat in front of his computer screen, it was the only source of light in his bedroom. His friends, Jake and Tyler, were huddled around him. They were watching him scroll through various websites in the dark web. "I can't believe we're able to access these websites now!I heard that these dark web browsers never work, I guess I'm proven wrong." said Jake. Sam shushed him. "I think we should stop now. Our parents will kill us if they knew we went on that Russian Girl website." nervously whispered Tyler. Suddenly, the lights in the bedroom flickered on!
Sam quickly turned the monitor off. The three of them turned back to see Sam's older sister, Amy, standing in the doorway. "So, three 11-year-old boys mesmerized by the computer screen. Only to turn it off as soon as someone walked in." she mocked. "Oh, how I wonder, what on Earth were they looking at?" she said as she approached them. "Nothing!" they all responded in unison. Without saying a word, she reached forward, about to turn the monitor back on. Sam slapped her hand away. "Okay! Fine! We were on those forum websites! We didn't see anything inappropriate! Seriously!" he blurted out. Amy decided to let them off the hook easy this time. "Okay, you get away. This time!" she said, leaving the room, with a big smile on her face.
As soon as she left, they turned the monitor back on and continued scrolling. Eventually, they found a strange website called: "CameraEyes.com". Curious, they clicked on it. As soon as the page opened, a Pop-Up appeared. It said: "Welcome to CameraEyes.Com! To enjoy this website to it's full potential, please fill in the boxes below.". There were two boxes. The first was labeled "Name:", the second was "Address:".
Jake and Tyler's faces turned pale. "Sam! You have to leave this site!" they tried to warn him. "You guys are chickens. Nothing's going to happen." he said as he began typing his name. Tyler took the mouse from him and tried to close the tab. However, he couldn't do it. "See! It won't let me close until I put it in!" Sam yelled as he ripped the mouse away from his friend. Both Tyler and Jake watched in horror as he plugged in the rest of his personal information.
A loading symbol appeared on screen and began spinning. After a minute, the page finally loaded. It was some type of livestream site. The live video took up the entire page. It just appeared to be the POV of a person walking through a forest. "You see! It's just a livestream!" Sam said to his pale-faced friends. Another Pop-Up appeared. This time, all it said was "Come back at 3:00 A.M. tomorrow morning!". "You gave your information to a stranger! I'm outta here!" shouted Tyler as he bolted downstairs, with Jake not far behind.
Sam wasn't worried. What was a livestreamer going to do to him? He wondered why the site told him to come back at 3 in the morning. For whatever reason, he had to find out. He was so excited that he already set his alarm clock to the witching hour.
"Buzzzzzt. Buzzzzzt.". That was the sound that shot Sam awake. It took him a minute to remember why he set his clock for this hour. When he did, he wasted no time. He found the website again and sat back and watched the livestream. So far, all he could see in the video were the rays of street lamps aging down on the asphalt pavement of a street. Strangely, it reminded him of his street. Suddenly;the camera panned over to the left, revealing a house. "Hey that looks like-....." was all Sam had to say. The color drained from his face. His smile morphed into a frown. It was his house!
"It's just a house that looks like mine. It's not actually mine."he kept trying to reassure himself. The camera got closer to the house, stopping a foot away from the front door. It tilted downwards; to reveal a gloved hand grab the knob, turn it and push the door open. Sam began tearing up now. Someone was in his house now. "Maybe if I stay quiet, he won't find me." he thought to himself.
The camera turned left, and began gliding up his stairs. He could hear the sound of footsteps outside his room, getting louder. The camera glided down the hall, stopping again at his door. Sam was now frozen in fear. He watched in horror as he saw his door open, hearing it over his shoulder. Then, he could see himself sitting in front of his computer.
With a boost of courage, he quickly turned around. It was the silhouette of a person in the doorway. It felt around for the light switch. The blinding light clicked on, revealing the creature. It looked like a human, but he could tell it wasn't. It was dressed in a black trench coat with black leather gloves. It's skin appeared to be very smooth, like plastic. It even shined a little. It was completely bald, not a single strand of hair could be seen. However, the most terrifying thing about this creature were it's eyes. Instead of real, organic eyes; it had camera lens for eyes!
Hot tears trinkled down Sam's cheeks and he lower lip trembled. The creature's eyes "zoomed in", accompanied by a humming sound. They focused in on him. "Hello, Sam." it spoke, in a robot-like voice. "Who-Wh-What are you?" Sam forced out of his mouth. It spoke again. "Your murderer!"
