" 'I feel a terrible sense of loss' is a strong sentence to say when one has lost someone important...but when you lose someone close to you...it leaves a pain that will hurt you to the core."
Lisa sighed as she held up the photo close to her face.
"When he told us of what happened, we were devastated. How could someone so strong die so suddenly? And then it hit us. He's experiencing the same loss as he did with-
"Forgive my sharp-tongued words, Leo...I spoke too hastily." she said.
"It's fine..." said Loud responded. "Are we not family? Though we have different planetary values and structures...we Delphinians feel loss more keenly than even the most emphatic of humans.
The headlines read as thus: Former Councilmember Catherine passed away at 44, Gone too Soon."
"This hurts me more than you think elder brother unit. Her theories about Quantum Dreaming had advanced a few of Earth's studies. I thought she was getting better in terms of health...but, I was wrong."
"We offer our condolences to those affected by her loss and passing. Our duties will not end despite this, and we will be remade into a better world. Carry the Lifelight!"
All voices have sounded out the phrase in unison: "CARRY THE LIFELIGHT!"
"More information will be available as the weeks go by...and if you're listening, Gennai, we offer up our sincere condolences in this dark time!"
"I think he heard you..." Leo said, forming a small smile. Cause despite the loss, he had his family to comfort him. all 13 of his family, pets included. Some from other worlds, even the Outer Realms extended their condolences. One thing was for sure...his family will be with him, no matter how dire things get.
"Thank you Big Sis..." he said as he looked up at the stars at night. "For everything."

(For context, Lisa said something insensitive about Aida and how she deserved it for not seeing the threat sooner. Gennai/Leo, insensed at said comment, slapped her, which in turn ended up triggering the Loud Cloud of Violence, causing several cuts and scrapes. Since the Protocol was scrapped, a now one was put into place to prevent the Brawl incident from returning. But Lisa, was shocked, and for a while...scared of him. "What if he lashed out again? He could lose it on any of us. Maybe it was wrong for me to say it to begin with." Which led to this prompt. Grief can make you do crazy things. But family is what keeps you from going off the deep end)
