(Warning! There will be a bad word here! It isn't really a bad word, it's a derogatory word)
Lexi's POV:
For English, the teacher, Ms.Williams assigned the class a partner project on major issues going on in the world right now.
Ms. Williams then briefly explained to each of us how the project would be marked, then gave the rest of the period as time to start brainstorming on what topics to research on specifically.
I already knew my topic right away, I was going to write about racism in the world. It was horrific, people getting discriminated against for the colour of their skin!
The least I thought I could do is to spread awareness on it and research to find out more about it.
I was brainstorming ideas for my project when suddenly somebody tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see who it was.
"Yeah?" I looked and it was Louis.
"Uh, I was wondering if we could work on the project together?" He asked, with hopefulness in his eyes.
I glanced at girls who were beside Louis's desk, probably wanting to ask them to do the project together.
"What about them?" I asked.
Louis made an awkward smile. "I don't really know them and you're the closest friend I have at this school, so..."
"Sure, you can be my partner." I scooted my chair over so he could sit closer to me.
As the girls behind Louis saw that he now had a partner, some of them quietly sighed as they went back to their seats, while some of them glared at me.
I tried to ignore the girls that were glaring at me, it wasn't all my fault they couldn't be partners with Louis!
For the end of the period, Louis and I brainstormed what to talk about for our global issues project. By the end of the class, we decided that we'd make a PowerPoint and present.
I hated being the centre of attention, so I always hated it when I had to present, but it was for school, and I had to get good marks, especially in English if I wanted a good mark for university.
The bell rang, and Louis and I headed to P.E (Physical Education).
I absolutely hated P.E.
I hated it.
And when I say hate, I mean have a pure, boiling hatred for this useless subject.
However, although I hated P.E, I was somehow good at long-distance running.
And thankfully, we had to run long distance. 10 times around the track, to be specific.
Unfortunately, it was also testing day, which meant that we were timed for how long we run.
After we were in the gym area, the teachers ordered for us to change our clothes and get ready to go outside.
I headed into the girls changeroom and changed my clothes, and started to get out of there when I heard girls whispering behind me.
"That's her, she's the one who keeps playing the new boy!"
At first, I thought they were talking about somebody else, but when I turned around, they looked away but I saw their side glances at me.
"Oh my god, her? She's such a brat and plays everyone, I knew it! I told you guys I had a bad feeling about her! "
Tears started forming in my eyes, but I managed to not cry as I pushed my way out of the changeroom.
As I got out to the gym, the teachers told me to go outside like the others who were done changing.
I waited outside for P.E to start, trying not to cry.
A few minutes later, Louis came outside laughing with a bunch of guys on his side.
As he saw me, he instantly had a worried face and waved bye to his friends.
"Hey, what's going on? You okay?" He asked putting his hand on my shoulder.
I nodded, staring at the ground.
"Come on, tell me what's going on so I can make you feel better." Louis lowered himself so that we were looking at each other.
"I just- Friendship problems, that's all." I sighed, lying to him.
In truth, I really didn't want to lie to him. I didn't! But I also didn't want him to worry because I wanted to deal with the rumors myself and not make a big deal out of the situation.
Ten minutes later, the last of the girls and boys came from the indoor gym, along with the teachers behind them.
The teachers ordered all of us to line up at the track, and when the whistle blew, I ran as fast as I could.
It was 10 laps around the track, so I should have been more considerate of my strength and stamina, but I didn't really care. I wanted to get away from the gossiping girls, and so I sprinted as fast as I could.
I heard Louis shouting behind me, but I kept running.
A few laps later, he caught up to me, trying to stay at my level.
"Why are you- Why are you running so-so fast?" He panted.
"I'm good at running, I guess." I replied, as I ran at a faster speed so that I wouldn't have to keep talking with him. I didn't want anybody seeing him and I running together, because they would claim that the rumors were true, which I didn't want.
I ran as fast as I could, and even with my legs burning with pain, I ignored it until I reached the end.
"15.49!" One of the teachers said, in shock.
"You should join track!" They exclaimed.
I shook my head. "No thank you, I don't like P.E."
"That's a shame, we could use a great runner like you!" They sighed in disappointment as I headed towards the school doors and sat on the stairs, resting my legs.
Two minutes later, Louis and a few others had also finished.
"So, are you gonna tell me why you just sped up and left me behind?" He asked, gulping down his water in his water bottle.
"I just felt like running, I guess." I said, sipping my water as well.
After changing back into my uniform, the bell rang, and I headed to my locker with Louis behind me.
As I opened my locker, I saw two pieces of paper falling out.
Curious, I picked them up and read them.
"What does it say?" Louis asked, trying to peek to see.
"Is it a love letter?" He joked, grinning.
I looked at the paper, and there it said, in big letters.
'Player'
'Ho! First Jake and now Louis!'
I froze because of the unexpected insults.
"Well?" Louis asked, peeking over, and then his mouth opening.
"Who the f'ck sent you that?!" Louis cursed in anger.
"I-I-" I tried to speak, but everything came out in stutters.
Louis grabbed the paper from me, and ripped it apart and threw it in the recycling bin. "I'll find out who wrote that, and when I do, I'm going to kick their ass."
A/N:
Who do you think wrote those messages??? Random people? Louis? Tiffany? Jake? Hannah?
I guess we'll have to find out! ;)
I'm so sorry for the super late update, I've been so so busy with school :( Unfortunately, I still have a bunch of work, but since it's winter break soon, hopefully I'll update soon!
