Louis's POV:
I woke up, rubbing my eyes, adjusting to my bright room.
I looked at my phone. Saturday.
I replayed everything that had happened yesterday.
Ella sending me the voice recording, Hannah telling Lexi that she was threatened to spread rumors about her, and everything after was just a blur.
I sighed.
I hoped Tiffany would leave Hannah and Lexi alone now.
I grabbed my uniform, changed, and headed to the cafeteria.
Once I got there, I waited in line for my breakfast, looking at my phone, and when I looked back up, surprisingly people were crowded in groups, whispering and looking at me.
Once I got my food, I looked around but couldn't find Lexi, so I sat down on an empty bench.
I texted Lexi to find out where she was, but she texted me back saying that she had gone out for breakfast with Jake and Hannah.
I wondered why she didn't invite me, but I let it go.
She had other friends. I wasn't her only friend.
She had her own life and I didn't need to be in every single part of it, no matter the fact that I had no other friends.
I put my phone away and picked up my breakfast to start eating, just as a brunette sat on the opposite seat as me, bringing her breakfast tray opposite of mine.
"Hi, I'm Mae." She held out her hand for me to shake.
"Louis." I nodded at her, shaking her hand.
"So, what's the Mr. Popular-new-boy doing here, eating all alone?" Mae asked.
"Well, I don't exactly have that many friends yet." I shrugged.
"Oh," Mae said, "then I can be your friend!"
I smirked. "If you insist!"

3rd person POV:
As weeks passed, Louis and Mae became closer and found that they had lots in common.
Mae and Louis both liked skateboarding, and they both knew how to play the piano and shared so many other interests.
Over the past weeks, however, Mae noticed that Louis would often glance at Lexi, and it was clear that he adored her.
So, Mae had decided to bring it up.
"Sooo...." Mae began as Louis groaned, as he turned from glancing at Lexi to facing Mae.
"Not this again!"
Mae faked a confused look. "What? I didn't even do anything yet."
"I know, and that's the problem. You always have that look on your face when you're gonna tease me." Louis crossed his arms.

"Ugh, whatever. Anyways when are you going to admit that you have feelings for Lexi?" Mae asked as Louis rolled his eyes.
"I don't have a thing for her, Mae." Louis scoffed.
"Sure." Mae nodded, "Now enough with the lies, when are you actually gonna tell her?"
