Louis's POV:
I walked towards the doors that led outside the school. I breathed in the fresh air, and exhaled, smiling because of the nice forest-like smell the air had.
I stayed outside for a bit, reading a book, until I realized it was almost time to go meet Lexi and her friends at the cafeteria.
When I got there it was 12:59pm, and they were all standing, there talking, waiting for me.
I brought my wallet and backpack with me because Lexi told me that we'd be eating lunch at the mall today instead of at school.
"Hey." I waved.
Lexi and her friends looked up at me, as I saw Lexi smile.
Even if you don't like her, I'm sure she's falling for you...
Ella's words echoed in my brain. I shook the thought out and walked with them to the train station.
As we entered the train, I saw Tiffany, Hannah and Lexi whispering amongst themselves.
Jake was awkwardly standing there like me, while the girls were talking.
I got my phone out and texted my friends from my old school that I was going to get a new skateboard today-or at least that I was planning to.
I turned off my phone and looked at what station we were at. Great, next stop and we'd be at the mall.
My phone buzzed, so I opened my phone and looked at my notifications. It was Luke, one of my closest friends at my old school.
"Cool Cool." The message read, there were the three dots, and Luke was typing.
My phone buzzed again.
"You make any friends?" It said.
I texted back, "Eh, kinda I guess?"
Luke sent back a thumbs up emoji, as Jake nudged me, telling me this was our stop. As we got out of the train station, I saw the mall up ahead.
It was grand, two floors, and since it was a newer building than the rest of the buildings near by, it stood out.
Lexi, Hannah and Tiffany pushed the entrance doors open, as Jake and I walked behind them.
"Do you come here a lot?" I asked Jake.
Jake shook his head. "We don't go anywhere this far much, it's usually the food shops near the school we go to. But yeah, we've been here a couple times, not much, though."
Hannah suggested that we go eat, since it was late for lunch already.
I didn't even realize it till Hannah mentioned food, but I was starving.
I bought a hamburger at the McDonald's at the store, and ate it for lunch.
After all of us were full, we walked through the mall's hallways.
We stopped by a few clothes shops on the way, as the girls looked through the clothes stores.
Eventually, we passed by a skateboard shop, just like Lexi said there would be.
"Wait, stop." I said, as everybody halted and turned to look at me, then at the skateboard shop.
"Oh it's here!" Lexi said with joy.
I nodded, and headed inside the store.
I approached a skateboard that seemed to look nice.
"I didn't know you skateboarded," Tiffany glanced at the skateboards inside the store. "Are there even places to skateboard near here?"
I ran my fingers through my hair.
"Yeah, there's a few, I did some research before I moved here," I commented. "I may not know much about the school or the buildings here, but I do know things about skateboards and skateboards."
There was a try-out zone, for customers to try out a skateboard and see if it fits them or not. I brought over a skateboard and put it on the ground. Lexi, Jake, Hannah and Tiffany gathered around the try-out zone to watch me.
I was a bit nervous, sure, but I've skateboarded for all my life.
You can do this, I told myself.
Once I was ready, I got onto the board, and did a quick kickflip.
"Woah, you must have experience with skateboarding." Lexi admired.
I slightly blushed. "I guess, I wouldn't say I'm that good, though, I haven't practiced in a while."
I grabbed the board, picked it up into my arms and grinned.
"This is the one."
I bought the board and a helmet (safety first, always.) and headed outside of the store.
I carried the skateboard throughout the mall halls.
A few hours later, everyone decided it was time for us to head back to school.
Author's Note:
Sorry I didn't mention this earlier, but Louis goes to a private boarding school, meaning the students live at the school during the school year. I've made it so this particular school has exceptions to go home in the schoolyear, so that it'll be easier for me to make plots more flexible in this book. Anyways, on with the story!
We all rode the train on the way to school, and on the way there, I kept seeing Lexi glance at the skateboard I was holding onto.
"What?" I asked Lexi.
"Oh, I just like your skateboard, that's all." She muttered, peeling her eyes away from my skateboard and onto somewhere else.
"That's all?" I asked, not 100% believing her.
"No, well, I wanna learn how to skateboard, to be honest, but I don't have a skateboard and I don't have anybody offering to teach me how, so..." Lexi trailed off.
"So...I could be your tutor?" I glanced at my board. "If you want, that is."
Lexi nodded vigorously. "I'd love that."
"Then it's final. You and me. Tomorrow, meet outside your door at 11am." I said, grinning confidently.
"Okay then, new boy." Lexi teased, as we got off the train and headed into our school for some sleep.
Jake, Tiffany and Hannah had their rooms in different directions and we parted ways, as Lexi and I headed towards our rooms.
When we got to our hallway, we got up to our doors and unlocked it with our keys.
Before we both headed into our rooms, Lexi paused, then smiled, looking at me.
"G-goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow." Lexi blurted.
"Goodnight." I replied.
