Camila's POV
"Any luck?" Lauren stands behind me as she peers at the computer.
"None," I let out a long sigh.
Lauren starts to massage my shoulders as she leans down to whisper in my ear. "It's okay. Let's get some rest and we'll try again tomorrow," Lauren takes my hand in hers. The green-eyed girl helps me stand up and leads me to the hotel bed.
"Do we have to stay yet again in a hotel?" I whine.
"We don't have a place to stay," Lauren runs a hand through my hair.
"Let's just sleep and get to work in the morning," I wrap my arm around her waist.
"Roger that Captain," Lauren teases.
Lauren's POV
I stuff my head into a pillow to avoid the bright sunlight peering through the windows. I feel next to me to touch nothing but the cold sheets which makes me sit up immediately. I see Camila on the computer making me groan. "You are already working?" I let out.
"No time to waste baby," Camila says.
"What time is it?" I lay back on the pillows.
"Noon."
"Excuse me, WHAT?" I sit back up.
"It's-"
"I heard. When did you wake up?" I ask.
"9:00 AM," Camila responds.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I lay back down letting the end of the sentence drag out.
Camila stands up and now she's hovering over me. "Because you looked so adorable and peaceful," Camila says smiling down at me.
I cover my face with my arms as my cheeks grow warm. "Stop it," I mumbled.
Camila takes my arms off of my face as she plants a kiss on my lips. "You're so cute," She mumbles against my lips.
"Get back to work," I roll over as I bury my face in a pillow.
"I need your help, baby." Camila turns me around so I lay on my back, my eyes locking with her chocolate ones.
"With what?" I ask.
"Everything you're better at finding people that I am," Camila kneels beside the bed.
I close my eyes, take a deep breath, then open them again. "Okay fine," I throw the duvet off of me.
Camila's POV
After working through all of the afternoon, Lauren found out where we could find Normani. She was able to snatch a gig in a strip club for tonight at midnight, apparently to blend in so whoever attacked Pink 390 doesn't find out where she is.
The cab stops in front of the strip club as Lauren and I get out, Lauren paying the taxi driver. We hide our bags and my gun on the side of the building before going up to the front.
Lauren skips the line making me give her a confused look but I follow.
"Hey, back of the line!" The bodyguard stops her.
Lauren looks around then grips his shirt pulling down to whisper to him. "Watch who you're talking to. Police Officer Lieutenant Jauregui. If you let me in then I won't dig into your life to figure out what type of skeletons you have in your closet," She whispers.
The bodyguard's eyes widen and he nods, "Okay."
Lauren smiles innocently as the bodyguard steps aside to let us through. "Thank you very much," Lauren takes my hand in hers.
