Everything will be fine...just trust me. 💗

Somehow Hotch had convinced you to stay with him for the weekend. Sid and Mandy were going on a getaway to Chicago for the weekend and you and Garcia had hung out during the week because she and Derek were planning on having a "sex-a-thon". You loved her but shuddered at the idea of seeing her and Derek naked together.

But here you were, on Hotch's couch waiting for your takeout to get here so you could watch a movie. Neither of you had pushed on you calling your night in the park a date. You'd been grappling with the fact that you said that all week and thought it best to just leave it alone. You were taking your feelings for him one day at a time. You were surprised you had even admitted to yourself that you had feelings for him. Part of you wanted to tell him but the immense guilt of moving on kept you from that. It would make it too real. It always made sense that Tyler would be the love of your life. It always made sense that there was no one else out there for you. The idea that maybe that wasn't true meant you'd have to open yourself up and be vulnerable again. You weren't ready.

"Are you alright?" Hotch is squatting in front of you, grabbing your hand. He brings it up to his mouth, kissing your wrist as always.

You shake your head, pushing those thoughts away. "I'm fine. Just zoned out about work." You piece your face into a smile. He studies you for a bit and then leans in to kiss you. The feeling of his lips against yours would never get old. The doorbell rings and the two of you separate.

"Can you get the door while I go grab the blankets? That must be the food." He stands, pulling you up with him.

"Sure." You give him a swift peck on the lips before making your way to the door. When you open it there's a short, blonde woman standing on the stoop, her face set into a glare. She doesn't have any bags in her hand so you open your mouth to ask her if she's at the wrong house when she cuts you off.

"Who the fuck are you?" Her voice is nasally, annoying and you instantly know that you wouldn't like here.

Taken aback from her rude words, you aren't polite in your response. "I could ask you the same fucking thing."

"I'm looking for my husband." She rolls her eyes and gets on her tippy toes trying to look around you.

"Your husband?" Dread fills your stomach. It couldn't be...could it?

"Are you stupid? Can you hear? Yes, my husband. Aaron Hotchner. I see he's got a new young whore to fuck for the month." She looks down in her purse, pulling out her phone.

"Hayley, watch your fucking mouth." Hotch's voice comes from behind you, it's filled with disdain. You spin around and look between the two of them.

"Don't you tell me what to do Aaron." She spits back at him, pointing her finger angrily.

You're frozen in time, your mind racing from this encounter. Didn't she mean ex-husband? Why was she here? Whore to fuck for the month?

"Baby, go back to the living room, I'll be there in a moment." Hotch strokes your hair and places a kiss on your temple before he moves around you. You absentmindedly nod, walking towards the couch.

Did he just have the audacity to kiss you in front of his wife? His wife. You sit down on the couch, your head in your hands, thinking. When he reenters, he sits down next to you.

"Aisha." He says cautiously.

"You told me she was your ex-wife." You look over at him and his face is painted with guilt.

"The divorce is almost final." He whispers. Of course, he'd lied to you. You internally kick yourself. Good going Aisha.

"Why did you lie to me? You know what, don't answer that. I don't care." You stand up and he follows suit.

"Aisha, please, just let me explain." He puts his hands up like you've got him at gunpoint.

"You have the time it takes for me to get my things and walk out of here." You look at anything but him, trying to stop the terrible feeling that's coursing through your entire body.

"Stop, please. Just look at me for a second." He notices that you aren't looking at him. You look him directly in the face, keeping yours void of any emotion. "I told you that because not only do I have no intentions of ever being with her again, especially now that I have you. But because it seems like if just one too many things are wrong, you'll run, and I don't want that. Tell me It's not true, that you haven't thought of running. Prove me wrong."

"I can't, but it's not fair for you to turn this on me. Why was she even here?" You're trying to keep your voice level but the anger and hurt in you are bubbling.

"What?" He looks confused and you roll your eyes.

"Don't bullshit me, Aaron, why was she here? Why was she comfortable enough to come here, unannounced?" You're shouting now, unable to contain your feelings. This is why you avoided this shit. The hurt, the loss, you were tired of it. You hadn't even opened up completely and he'd disappointed you already.

He opens his mouth to say something and closes it, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "We sleep together, occasionally."

Bile rises in your throat. Of course, he was still sleeping with his ex-wife. Why wouldn't he be, you'd made it clear that you weren't trying to be in a relationship. "I'm leaving."

"Aisha, I haven't been with her since we've met. Please don't leave." He begs, reaching for you. You take a step back, staying out of his reach.

"How am I supposed to believe that? God, how could I be so stupid. To think that you really wanted me. I was starting to believe you. I was starting to..." You don't finish your sentence and walk towards the stairs. You're taking the steps two at a time to grab the bag you'd brought over. He follows, completely speechless, but you ignore him. Luckily, you hadn't unpacked anything and just needed to grab it. You check your pockets for your phone. You were going to have to call an Uber. He's still following you make your way down the stairs and towards the foyer. He turns you around then, his hand grasping your chin.

"You should believe me; I like being with you." His declaration stirs up feelings that you'd rather ignore, and you remove his hand from your face.

"Well, I hope it was fun for you while it lasted." You simply say before turning and exiting the front door. You move quickly, wanting to get as far away from him as possible. You wanted to cry but you didn't want him to see you do it.

You're walking down the sidewalk, on your phone, trying to call a car. He's calling after you, and you realize he must be following you because his voice isn't very far away. You roll your eyes, continuing to look at your phone. You don't notice that you've stepped into the street, or the car that's coming until it starts honking at you. You look up from your phone, your nightmare from weeks ago was coming to life in front of you.

"Aisha!" Hotch cries out from behind you.
