doyoung sat at his table, lazily chewing his sandwich, eyes and mind quietly taking in the principles of inheritance and variation.
science, and most importantly, biology has always been one of his most favorite subjects.
he did nothing when the chair beside him was preoccupied with jaehyun.
"seriously? biology?" from the corner of his eye, doyoung could see jaehyun groaning.
"yeah. it's interesting. got a problem with that?"
"no. but you're so-"
"so what?" doyoung finally turned to jaehyun, mind again turning to confusion when yuta and winwin joined him too.
"boring." jaehyun finished off, making doyoung smile at him.
"i will take that as a compliment. and also, why are you guys here? i don't remember us planning to sit together in lunch."
"well, i thought, since i'll be spending a lot of time with you from now onwards, why not make ourselves much more comfortable with one another?" jaehyun said, making doyoung scrunch his nose up in annoyance, making the younger smile, which went unnoticed by doyoung.
it didn't go unnoticed by yuta and winwin though. winwin squeezed yuta's hand under the table, and he squeezed back, understanding what winwin was trying to imply.
"allow me to introduce myself. hey doyoung! my name is sicheng, but you can call me winwin, and this is my boyfriend yuta." winwin's cute broken english made doyoung crack a smile, and it made jaehyun smile too, cause doyoung didn't seem as intimidating like he looked.
"hey doyoung."
"yuta." doyoung nodded at yuta, and then went back to reading his book.
jaehyun raised his eyebrows at the couple, signaling them to leave so that he could tell doyoung what happened in class today.
the couple understood, and they got up.
"well, it was nice meeting you doyoung. yuta has football practice, and i'm going with him, so bye!"
"bye." doyoung smiled at the couple, and then once again went back to reading his book, not paying any attention to jaehyun.
"can you please put that book down?" jaehyun pleaded but doyoung shook his head.
the younger turned impatient at the way doyoung was ignoring him and having no other way to make the elder talk, the boy got up from beside doyoung and sat in front of him instead. he yanked the book away from doyoung's hands, making him glare.
"okay listen. i promise i'll give your book back. but only after you listen to me. don't you want to hear about what happened with me and jisoo today?"
"fine. only for jisoo." doyoung said, and put his hands on the table to get comfortable while listening to jaehyun.
"okay. so she was there, sitting in english 101, looking as beautiful, graceful, elegant and gorg-"
"i get it jung." doyoung interrupted jaehyun's daydream.
"-as ever. she had a problem with the meaning of pulchritudinous. and i helped her with that. she smiled at me after that and it seemed like the most beautiful angel was smiling at me." jaehyun wasn't looking at doyoung anymore. he was rather more preoccupied in his mind where he has already imagined and build a happy life that him and jisoo would lead.
if they ever get...together.
"good. so there's been some progress. now she'll remember you as the good, kind and handsome guy who helped her with her english homework." doyoung said, chewing the last remnant of his sandwich slowly.
"yeah. yea-wait. did you just call me handsome?" jaehyun, as giddily as a child, asked doyoung, who scoffed.
why was he always so happy, and how?
"oh fuck off jung." jaehyun pouted like a kid when doyoung said so, grabbing his book and turning away to go to his next class.
"rude."
