Co general Minnea Sword⚔️

I can't let you go! No matter what, we will get through this and stay until the end. Why do men always have to ruin it for us, and think we'll go down so easily? I will never give up.

❄️⚔️❄️

"Why are you here?"

The village looks quite as I imagined. The houses are quite a few, and they all seem to be built out of stone and wooden stocks. I can't figure out if it's because of the cold that plagues these mountains, or the rocks that seem to be the only building material around. We had passed several mines on the way, most old and abandoned because of the poor situation in the kingdom.

The capital seems to be the only lively place left in our kingdom..

I hear Daisy's stomach rumble, and look over to where she is riding next to me on her white horse. She is wearing a dark blue dress covered by a palace blue cloak. It barely keeps any warmth, and both of us are shivering. Daisy is hungry and so am I, we are very low on food and don't want to bother the poor townspeople on the way. Winters are hard for them, especially winters during such poor times.

After several days of traveling, through snowstorms and biting cold and hunger, me and Daisy have finally arrived at the village. The stables in the village are empty, and no light shines from any window. We leave our horses and start to explore the town. We see no people at all, only our own footsteps echoing between the old wooden houses.

Almost like nobody has been here in a while...

I turn towards Daisy, and grab her hand protectively. Something is wrong... why do we hear no sounds or see no guards.

Suddenly I hear a noise behind us. It sounds like heavy footsteps!

I drag out my sword and pull Daisy behind me, while turning around to see the face of whoever stands behind us. Why am I feeling so uneasy about this? Maybe because we are somewhere so remote, just us two.

A relived sigh leaves my lips as I see who it is. Prince Clearblue and Jackson are standing there, hands in the air as I point my sword at them. With a slight shake in my head I turn around and put the sword back in my belt, while Daisy greets them happily. Just as we begin talking snow starts to fall down, painting the ground in more layers of white.

Of course, it's evening, which means that the next snowstorm will be here any minute. We have to hurry up and find shelter for the night, or any person that is willing to take us in.

"Jackson, your majesty, it's good to see you both are here and well"

I smile and they nod tiredly. Their clothes are worn out and they look tired and skinny. That must be because of the cold and hunger, or after many days on the run. But it's good to be us four together again, so I won't have to worry so much. Maybe the war will be over soon as well.

Although I can't help but feel slight worry for Amalia and Zyris, who I haven't seen or heard from since they left.

"We should probably find somewhere to sleep and catch up, before the snowstorm-"

"Shhhh!"

Just as Clearblue is about to finish his sentence, Jackson shushes him and looks around. The crown prince looks at him questioningly, and opens his mouth to ask Jackson why he asked him to be quiet. But Jackson raises his hand and drags his sword quietly.

My heartbeat quickens. He must have heard something! In that exact moment I also drag out my sword with a swish, and pull Daisy closer to me. She looks around worriedly, and Clearblue drags out his own sword, but walks behind Jackson.

Soon I also hear a sound. It comes from the village exit, and we turn around and ready ourselves for battle. The sound of hooves becomes clearer and clearer, until we finally see a brown horse running straight for us at full speed. We can't see who the rider is, as they are wearing a blue cloak.

Just as the horse is about to crash into us, it stops abruptly and the rider jumps off. We step back as much as we can.

Suddenly the mysterious person takes off her hood and we see who it is. Princess Amalia! My first thought is that she was also sent here for safety reasons.

But something changes my mind.

Amalia runs up to us, with tears running down her cheeks and heavy eye bags. She catches her breath before yelling out.

"We have to leave! This is a trap, he is going to kill you!"

And just as she says it, twenty soldiers appear from inside one of the buildings, pointing swords at us. Amalia gasps and runs behind us just in time, before the first one attacks. It's immediately clear that they are not here for battle, but here to kill. Thankfully me and Jackson and Clearblue manage to block the first hits.

"Why are you attacking us!? Aren't you guards of the palace?! This is high treason!"

Jackson yells out to the soldiers. He can recognize some of them from the palace, and they are all wearing palace uniforms.

"They were sent by my father! He wants to kill Clearblue and Daisy, and he has imprisoned Zyr and Teno and plans to execute them after we are killed!"

In shock I turn towards Amalia after she has spoke, but there seems to be no time for that. Immediately after another guy manages to scrape my cloak and I have to kick him off me. Horror settles in my stomach.

Is this how we die? Is this how this story will end?

We never even got to finish that diary, I never even got to tell Daisy how much I love her...
