Part 20- Texas (road trip)

I may have fucked up a little bit because I googled how long it takes to get to Texas from Michigan and its a long time so please forget that fact and pretend that I haven't been an idiot.

I woke up in the bed in the hotel which kind of confused me for a second because the last thing I remembered was sitting on a rock at the side fo the lake leaning on Tommy but I soon worked out that he must have carried me up to bed. In fact Tommy was laying right beside me with his arm lightly over my hip, he was still fast asleep so I just laid there waiting for him to wake up so that I could move.

Tommy eventually woke up from his slumber and opened his eyes which stared directly into mine for a solid minute before he moved closer and kissed the tip of my nose. He handed me my phone which was on his bedside table and we both cuddled while scrolling through Instagram and twitter, times like these where the best when we could just relax and be with each other without the judgement of others.

Like all good things do our cuddling time soon came to and end when I got a text from Wilbur saying we had 20 minutes before we were leaving to head on our drive to Texas which apparently was the second to last state we were going to. It was kind of sad to think that this adventure was nearly over but I was happy that I got to have such an amazing experience like this one.

I left the warm bed to go and change out of the warm clothes I put on last night, I swapped my leggings and hoodie for some denim shorts and a plain white body suit with a mesh cut out either side. It's not an outfit I had worn before but I saw it on someone else so wanted to try it and I don't think I looked half bad. I brushed my hair but otherwise left it how it was before putting on a slight bit of makeup purely because I felt like it.

Once I was done we still had another 10 minutes before we were leaving so naturally I filmed some tik toks some of which I'm going to post and others I'm definitely not going to because they are god awful. Tommy was in the background of a few of them judging me on my dancing skills but I didn't care.

When I was done I dragged Tommy and Toby out of the room so that we would be on time for once even early maybe if they didn't protest too much. We got to the van just as the 20 minutes had passed and put all of our things in the boot before we started our drive to Texas which was Nick's choice because according to him Texas is the best state which I would have to disagree with but thats beside the point. 

The drive was pretty long but it was fine because I slept through most of it and for the rest I had my headphones on and was listening to music. It's surprising how much time you can lose just being in your own world but it sure is helpful at times.

When we got to Houston which is where Nick wanted to take us we explored the NASA space centre which I didn't know existed but it was super cool to look around. They had all sorts of models and other things of rockets and other things they had discovered. Space had always been fascinating to me for as long as I can remember I have loved looking out of an evening and seeing the stars and the moon in the sky, I also wonder what else is out there looking down on me from a far.

When we made it all the way around the space centre Nick wanted to take us to the Houston zoo so thats where we went. When we got there we all got something to eat as we walked around the place, they had a bunch of different animals. My favourite by far was the red panda because I had never really see on one before but they were absolutely beautiful and so relaxed. I had such a good time just watching them move around in the tree.

I was so in my own world that I didn't notice Tommy come up behind me and put his arms around my waist. I only noticed when he nuzzled his head into my neck, I looked at him and put my hand through his hair which made him look back up again. He spun me round while still keeping his arms around me and pulling me into a tight hug. He was being very touchy today but I loved it because it showed me that he is comfortable with me. I have leant over the time that I have spent with Tommy that his love language is touch but he will never admit it because he likes to come across as this tough guy when in reality he is such a softie when with people he is comfortable around.

Tommy only let go of me when Clay and Nick started to make fun of him for being soft, he let go of my waist but he held my hand instead as we walked around the rest of zoo. When we left the zoo we went to a proper restaurant to get some nice food seeing as we have mostly eaten fast food for the past few days which was starting to make me break out. I had this really good pasta dish which was a nice change from the awful stuff I had been eating.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and we all sat in Wilbur and Alex's room for a while to watch a movie. I was sat with Tommy so I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes when I started to struggle to keep them open.
