Part 21- hike (road trip)

I woke up laying on the floor on top of Tommy who was also asleep, I was confused but I quickly remembered that we were all watching a live and everyone must have fallen asleep and not gone to bed. I got up straight away and went back to my room to shower because I felt gross from not changing last night.

Once I had showered I put on a cute skirt and a top that matched it as well as my white trainers, when I came out the bathroom Tommy and Toby where back in the room talking about something but they stopped when they saw me. I simply smiled and sat down and went on my phone while I waited for them to get ready. Today we are heading to our final location of the road trip where we have a few things planned according to Clay and Wilbur, I still don't know where we are going but I have a feeling we are going to California because that makes the most sense to me.

We all had breakfast at the hotel before leaving and hitting the road again like we had done every other day of this trip, at this point I'm kind of sick of seeing road signs and turnoffs. (I've messed up the drive times again so please ignore that, apparently I have severely underestimated the size of America lmao). I was sat talking with Tommy, Toby and Alex for most of the ride.

"So are you excited for your birthday in 3 days?" Tommy asked

"I mean I guess so I kind if forgot that my birthday was coming up actually" I replied

"How can you forget your own birthday?" Toby asked

"Quite easily, don't make me tell them about when you forgot my birthday and ignored me pretty much all day last year" I retorted

"Ok fine I'm sorry" he said

The others started begging me to tell the story so I told them, it wasn't that interesting really. He just completely forgot that it was my birthday so when I text him asking if he wanted to hang out while my parents were at work he left me on read and when we talked that night was when I told him and he felt so bad that he wouldn't leave me alone for a solid week.

A/n: y/n's birthday would make her 17 so older than Tommy but I liked the idea of them celebrating her birthday so that's why it's happening any way on with the story

The time in the car went by so quickly and before I knew it we were arriving in la which was the last place that we were going to be staying for the next few days. Clay drove us to where we were staying first because we needed to drop off our things. After driving for a bit longer he pulled up at this huge house and Wilbur told the rest of us that they had booked an air bnb for the last few days of the trip. We all got out and explored the place it was absolutely amazing it had everything even a pool in the back garden, after looking round we out our stuff in our rooms and I got changed because we were going on a hike for our activity and I wasn't wearing exactly athletic clothes.

When I was ready we left and got back in the car to go to where we were going to hike, we ended up at the bottom of the hill where I could see the Hollywood sign which I guessed we were going to hike towards. I was super excited because I had seen pictures of the views from the top and they looked so amazing. Just like in New York I was tasked with carrying the backpack that had everyone's water bottles and other things in it, the bag was kind of heavy but I thought it would get lighter as we walked because people would drink their water.

We started up the path which led right to the top of the hill, I walked in front with Tommy and Toby because I was so excited to get there. Someone was playing music through their phone which made me even more pumped even though the music was not my taste. About halfway up it got a lot steeper and I was starting to struggle with the bag on my back, it made me so out of breath and sweaty from the extra weight.

"Y/n/n are you ok there?" Tommy asked (y/n/n is your nickname incase you didn't know)

"Yeah I'm fine the bag is just heavy" I replied

"Hang on let me take it from you" he said

He walked behind me and took the bag off my back taking mine and his water bottle out of it before putting it on his back. He handed me my water and I drank like half of it because I was so thirsty, when I had finished I held my bottle in 1 hand and grabbed Tommy's hand with the other. He tightened the grip on my hand as we walked up the steepest and thinnest part of the hill to make sure I was safe and didn't slip.

We reached the top first and I dragged Tommy to the edge so that we could look over at the view. It was so amazing I could see for miles over the city, the sun was in the middle of the horizon shining down on all of the buildings in the skyline. I was way to mesmerised by the view to take any notice of all the others standing around admiring it too, Tommy had put his arm around my waist as we stood together which was the only thing in my surroundings that I noticed.

I stood admiring the view for a good 10 minutes before I looked away and was made to take pictures for people's Instagrams and twitters which I did but I did make them take pictures for me too. The pictures turned out really good in the end, while I went through the pictures and sent all the other pictures to everyone else while they all sat and drank some of their water before we made our decent back down to civilisation.

The descent wasn't as fun as going up because there was no reward at the end other than having to get back in the car for 30 minutes. Toby made me race him on the very last part of trail to the car, he always beats me when we do this but I was determined to win this time. I ran as fast as I could and I actually made it to the car before him but it did make me very out of breath.

Skip the ride home

We got back and everyone decided to go in the pool so I went to go put on my black bikini and jumped in the pool with everyone else. Somehow we all got into a big splash fight and everyone got soaked and water got everywhere. George, Clay and Nick all got out but the rest of us stayed and relaxed a little bit before going back inside to play games with the others for the evening.

We decided to have a games night seeing as the air bnb had a few games in it for guests. Everyone was in comfy clothes and wrapped up in blankets despite the fact that it was still warm outside, we had enough blankets for most people but me and Tommy had to share which I was fine with because it meant we got to be close together without the others teasing us.

We started off our games night by playing uno, I had one card left but so did Clay and Wilbur and the rest had quite a few cards from us 3 making them pick up a bunch. It was George's turn and he laid a blue 7 which meant that I could win as long as Tommy didn't lay any card because I had a yellow 7 as my last card. It was Tommy's turn had he looked at his cards which I swear he was doing in slow motion but he then reached to the pile of cards and I smiled a bit knowing I had won. I grabbed my card and triumphantly placed it on the pile of cards.

"George you idiot you allowed her to win" Clay raged

"What if he wanted me to win?" I replied

"I was rooting for you y/n" Wilbur said

"Thank you Wilbur, are you mad that a 16 year old girl beat you Clay?" I asked

"No and you're almost 17 so shut up" he said

We all laughed at him before playing another game which again I won but mainly because everyone was helping me slightly or stopping Clay from doing well. It was so funny watching him get so mad at us all so in our last game we let him win. We played a few other games before we all went to bed.
