"Then, I came running to you." Hermione said to Harry, her sobs receding a tiny bit as she looked into the eyes of her terribly feeling best friend. She pulled his hands down from her head.

"I... came between you two." Harry said in a regretful tone.

"No. You didn't. Ron's reassuring ego did." she said, trying to make him feel better. After all, it was the truth. Harry took Hermione's hands into his. Looked at them for a moment before looking up to her.

"Hermione Jean Granger. You have no idea how lucky I am to have you in my life. And as my best friend even!" his tone was exclaiming, but his voice was soft. "You are the best person someone could ever have in their life. And I am so grateful to be one of those people." she smiled, temporarily separated her hand from his, and wiped a happy tear from her cheek, followed by putting her hand back in its rightful place.

Wait a second, rightful place? She thought. Harry continued. "I don't know why you chose to stay. Even I wouldn't want to stay with me. But I am incredibly fortunate you did." he smiled. "So, thank you."

"When you left Harry... you looked hopeless,"

"I was."

"No, you were the very opposite." she looked at him reassuringly. "Hope is telling someone to leave. Yet, begging them in your mind to stay. That was very clear in the speech you just gave." she giggled.

Harry got up and he offered her his hand. She took it and hoisted herself up. She hooked her hand in the crook of his arm and they walked back towards the tent. Talking about what to make for dinner that night.
