Playback of the last scene from "Hopeless"

"When you left Harry... you looked hopeless,"

"I was."

"No, you were the very opposite." she looked at him reassuringly. "Hope is telling someone to leave. Yet, begging them in your mind to stay. That was very clear in the speech you just gave." she giggled.

Harry got up and he offered her his hand. She took it and hoisted herself up. She hooked her hand in the crook of his arm and they walked back towards the tent. Talking about what to make for dinner that night.

After dinner by the fire outside, It was Hermione's turn to be on watch. They kept on watch for Death Eaters and Snatchers in shifts; alternate nights. Hermione and Harry carried their plates inside and she grabbed a blanket, a book, and her wand.

"Hermione, please be safe. If you see anything suspicious, please call for me. I don't care if my sleep will be disturbed, I don't want you to get hurt." he told his best friend.

"Oh Harry, I'll be fine." She dismissed. But Harry's expression stayed serious.

"I don't care if you think it's a hare in the bushes. I want you to call for me. Please." he begged. He could not lose another friend or have her hurt.

She walked up to him and hugged him. This one was soft and gentle unlike her more popular suffocating ones. "I will, Harry." she assured him.

He pulled back, holding her shoulders, and gazed into her chocolate brown eyes. "Promise me?"

"I promise." she went outside and set up under a tree across the tent. This cycle repeated for several days.

She sighed and sat down. It was too dark to read a book so she decided to just sit and observe. The forest was beautiful that night. There was fresh snow with the full moon's light reflecting off of it and the mini waterfall in a creek nearby made her feel relaxed.

She took a deep breath and exhaled. She smiled softly to herself and just for a second, she forgot about her problems. She drew small patterns on the snow with her wand and passed time until sunrise which was at 4:00 AM.

She stood up to get a better look. She saw the sun slowly creep up above the mountains painting the sky with warm homey tones. Around the sun was a light orange, almost yellow. A little farther was the light orange blending into a dark sky blue which was followed by a pastel pink. In between the pink and blue was a dark lavender shade; the result of the two colors fusing together.

She watched the sunrise until the sun was visible from her sitting position, and picked up her novel. She sighed and opened to the page she had dog eared from two nights ago, when she was on watch.

The forest was still dark but there was enough light for her to start reading. So she did. But, after a few pages, she decided to pull her head out of the book and think. Think about the events that had happened. How to keep Harry alive. How to live a normal life.

Will I ever get to live a normal life? She thought. And unknowingly, she began singing a soft melody. A song she used to sing with her mother. Oh how she missed her terribly. But it had to be done. They had to be obliviated. She'd rather they forget about her than die at the hands of Voldemort.
