This is unedited. I know it's been a while since I last update this book but with everything going on I just didn't feel up to it. I do hope y'all enjoy this though. Jesy will be wearing the outfit in the picture above for most of this one shot.
Daphne's POV:
"Boys, come in here please!"
Elijah and Derek run in and look at me.
"Elijah, say hi." I point behind him at the person on the couch and he turns.
"Hi, Ms. Nelson."
I bite back a laugh at how formally he addresses Jesy.
"Hi, Elijah."
"DJ."
Derek James or DJ, walks over to Jesy and gives her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"Hi, Mum."
"Hi, my love." Jesy hugs him and kisses his cheek.
When Jesy releases him, he runs to me. I'm laid in the chair with my head resting against one arm and my legs thrown over the other, causing my already short shorts to ride higher. I motion him up into the chair with me. He climbs up and sits on my stomach. Looking at the two of us, you'd think I was his Mum and not Jesy because of his complexion. His complexion is the only thing he got from his father, everything else he got from Jesy.
"Aren't you going to say hi to Dana?" Jesy points to the woman next to her.
I highly dislike Dana. She doesn't like kids so she pretends DJ doesn't exist. She's also the reason Jesy and I are no longer together. Yes, Jesy is my ex-girlfriend. We were together a little over three years. Then about six months ago, Jesy broke up with me. She said I didn't spend enough time with her which is bull. Being the head of their security meant I was with her at all times unless something came up and I had to be somewhere else. Jesy broke up with me the day before I was set to propose.
Jade, Leigh, and Pez came over that night to check on me and told me that Dana showed up after I left and was all over Jesy. Knowing I couldn't be around Jesy, and potentially Dana, every day I removed myself from the security team and put Parker in charge.
"No. She acts like I don't exist. Why would I want to say hi to someone like that?" The four year old questions with a slight attitude.
"Watch the tude, dude. She's still your Mum." I scold.
"Yes ma'am." He lowers his head.
I bump his arm with my hand. When he looks up at me I jerk my head towards Jesy and give him a look.
DJ turns his head toward Jesy. "I apologize, Mum. Do you forgive me?"
"I forgive you, baby boy."
Looking into Jesy's eyes, I see sadness and fear. Why is she afraid? Does it have something to do with me? Before I can contemplate the reason for the fear in Jesy's eyes, my front door closes and Jennifer walks in.
"Sorry, Daph." She walks over to me and sits on the chair arm beside my head.
I start to ask her why she's apologizing when four figures appear in the living room doorway. Mum's parents Janet and Henry, her niece Sophie, and my therapist Dr. Melissa Blake. I roll my eyes with a sigh.
"Why? Just why?" I groan.
Jennifer pats my head. I make eye contact with Dr. Blake and raise an eyebrow.
"We need to talk, Daphne."
"There's nothing to talk about, Dr. Blake."
"There is. A certain circular object that goes on a finger to be more specific."
