KING's ELDER MATE

Chapter 1

" Where's your mate mommy?" innocent golden eyes of her daughter stared at her as she asked this question. 

Lylia can't help but shed a tears behind her eyelids as she remember that hideous day she lost her mate and her daughter's father. 

She look at her daughter and pulled her for a back hug as she said this:

"We'll, sometimes, there's always a reason why mate is nowhere or gone. The important is…. you cherish the time when your mate still with you and you love him of all your hearts as your mate love you too." 

The daughter look at her mother and smile as she said:

"I will love my future mate as much as I love you mommy ." 

The mother smiled and give her daughter a kiss on her head. 

"I love you too Layla" 

Layla awakened by the sun rays hitting her skin through the window.

"Had a nice dream?" a pitch voice asked her. 

She look at the door and saw her friend Miya who's leaning at the doorway. 

"Yah. Might as well a memory" she said as she sit up and rub her face. 

"Better get up girl. We have a long journey to go." She said as she walk away. 

Long journey huh? Might as well a work to do. She thought. She stand up and walk through her bathroom to clean up. 

As she get in, she face the mirror and stares at her own reflection. 

As she remember her dream, she can't help but feel sad. As what happened to his father, also the same to her mother.

Her tears has been all drained and all left was the dull light in her eyes. 

She done her morning bath and wear her usual attire. 

A lacy blue dress behind her black coat and black mask. 

As one of the Elders, no one under them should know their identity even the King himself. This has been authorised since the beginning. 

She went out her room and see all the Elders have been settled at the table, having a breakfast. 

She take a sit beside her bestfriend aka the girl from earlier. 

"As everyone is here, I have an announcement which is about this new issue in our society. The Rogues has been attacking different pack and the King ask us about this, as this rogues is no ordinary, there are some witch has been helping them to make their scent undetected that make it easy for them to kidnap or kill someone." the head of the Elders said and look at everyone to present his authority. 

We all nod to present that we all understand.

" I will all assign you to a different pack to lead them on attacking this rogues. Hope you all can settled this well and all will be according to our Elders law. Hope you all understand." he said it in a hard tone.

We all nod and start to get up and get the paper we're all the info about the place where would be assign. 

I open the folded paper and read that I'll be in EverGreen Pack. Hmm. I must say, this would be easy, as far as I know from this pack, they are OK with Elders coming on their place. I said this because, some pack doesn't really have a good impression with us "Elders". They'll take that we are some hideous creature hiding behind our mask and coat. As if they knew, what's the reason behind of this. Hate those judgemental people.
