loading up minecraft, i sat back in my chair. finally there was a day off, after weeks of relentless work at college. i pull up the dreamsmp, logging in so i can just work on my house. yet as soon as i joined, sapnap spammed the chat with "HELLO (y/n) ILY". i laughed at his silliness, checking who was all on.
it was just him and dream. dream was the only one that knew that sapnap and i were dating. after all, he was the one that introduced us about a year ago.

i smiled softly, waiting for my discord to go off. seconds later the music and see sapnap calling. quickly i accept it, my smile getting wider subconsciously.
"hi (n/n)," sapnap giggles. "how was your day?"
"wait, come to my house on the smp. but i've just slept all day. i got all my college work done last night so i'm on break now." i sigh, organizing some random items in my chests.
"yeah! i'm proud of you!" the texan says, as he sprints towards my base. i chuckle softly after hearing his keyboard and how aggressively he was pressing it.
"thank you! how's your day been?"
"i joined in on karl's stream and then i talked to dream for a bit." his voice was still energetic so karl's stream couldn't have ended too long ago. i hummed in response as i heard the door to my house open through my headphones and i moved my character's head to the door.
in the doorway stood sapnap, who was covered in shiny netherite and crouched. i smiled at the character before going back to sorting. sapnap, being the nosy kid he is, starts looking through my chests as well.
casually we fall into conversation for about an hour, several people joining and leaving the smp. we had walked around and gone through the nether, searching for netherite for me.
maybe stupidly, i had brought terra, my dog, to the nether.
however, in my defense, the dog went with me everywhere. absolutely everywhere i went.
yet, as we get back to my base in the overworld, terra had unfortunately taken some hits. as i started digging through my chests for some food to heal them. suddenly a whine rips me away from my task. i quickly exit out if the chest and see the chat.
terra<3 was slain by sapnap!
instantly i pause. maybe it was stupid but i couldn't help but feel my heart kinda break.
"(y/n)," you could tell his voice was filled with regret. "i'm so sorry." i just nod, even though he can't see me. i feel tears fill my eyes, which only gets worse once i realize it. getting frustrated, i log off, leaving the call. i turn off my pc and set my head down on the desk. tears silently fall from my eyes.
i stayed here, just letting the emotion flow through. i lost track of time, staying in my somewhat uncomfortable spot. that's when i heard my door open.
"(y/n)," my mom says quietly. "nick is here." i didn't say anything, i just stayed in my spot. i heard him shuffle against the floor and the door close quietly.
"(n/n), im so sorry." he comes up and places a hand on my shoulder. i finally pick my head up, tear stains on my cheeks. "oh, (y/n) im sorry. come here." he stands back a bit, holding out his arms. getting the notion, i stand up and hug him. instantly, i put my head on his shoulder and start crying again.
he keeps his stance, rubbing his hands across my back soothingly. it calmed me, very much. after another minute of just standing there.
"sorry," i mumble into his hoodie. "i think the stress of school got to me and that just, that tipped me over the edge." he nods against me understandingly.
"hey, its okay. im sorry." we both tighten our grip from the hug at the same time. instantly, we both break out into laughter. he smiles and lets go, sitting back onto my bed. he holds his hands out yet again, i smile at him. silently, i head over and fall into his arms yet again.
he lays back, and i follow suit. we sit there for a while, just cuddling. no talking, just enjoying each other's company. i close my eyes, sitting back to relax. what seemed like seconds later, i had opened my eyes and the sunlight was peeking through the curtains. behind me i could hear nick's very soft breathing.
i smile again and the realization hits me.
i smile a lot when he's around, even if i'm upset with him. he makes it better by just being him.
