Kirsten didn't know what to say. "I know you are both in some shock, but the drugs we put you under calmed you, to make this process easier. All I need you to do is follow Jennifer into that little white doored room over there and sit in the little brown wooden chairs." Kristen knew what she had to do. She had to run. But as soon as she tried to break into a sprint, she realized, she couldn't. She was frozen.
"Walk to the rooms. Now." The voice was no longer friendly, but menacing and cold. With no way to rebel, Kristen and Aaron had no choice but to not fight the force that was somehow making them move certain ways.
"Oh, and by the way, your little 'brain friends' are making you move like that. They do have a lot of control over you, y'know." Oh. Quin was controlling her motions using her dominant half of her brain. Yay.
The hallways were a little crammed, with only just enough room for the little short man, Kristen, Aaron and Jennifer to fit through. "Here we are." Jennifer reached into her pale skin, and somehow pulled a set of keys out of a pocket- shaped area. Aaron gagged.
"Go live in the Overworld, mortal. This is natural protocol here in the Nether." Not the best insult for a human taught child, Kristen assumed, but it was pretty clear she meant the other version of 'Go Die In Hell'. The Nether version.
"Here we go. You two sit in these chairs." As the two mortals obeyed, not having much choice on the matter considering their brain situation, and Jennifer strapped them both down with heavy, icy metal chains.
"Now. Relax. We are going to try to wake you from your human state of mind. This doesn't work on most hybrids, but it is always attempted. When you wake, you will be able to use your powers. The sooner you wake, the faster you can improve." Jennifer picked at her pocket of skin until it opened up again, then pushed the keys back in. Aaron heaved. Jennifer snorted in return.
"Okay. Anyways, you're about to undergo the Switch. On the count of three...one...two...three!" Jennifer pulled a lever and it all went black.
Images. All images. Beautiful, inspiring images. But all grey. Grey and black and a tad bit of light grey like white. They flooded Kristen's mind, a billion a second, and it was overwhelming. So powerful. So strong.
Kristen saw images. Books, animals. Plants, other humans. Wait a second, all of these images were recognizable to her. They were human images. Nothing nether.
Then it went black again.
"Alright! Time's up!" Kristen awoke, head throbbing, nausea and bile rising in her throat. The lights were flicked on.
"O-Kay. You got thirty seconds under The Switch. What's up. What did you see?" Aaron threw up into a nearby trashcan and sat back down. His chains had been taken off. "I-I saw - I saw - dancing. Thousands of colors. And music. Loud and happy. I saw art, and books and people and celebrations." Kristen froze.
That was not what she saw.
