People at school had no idea that Jayden auditioned for X Factor. Jayden said it was a good thing because then they won’t treat him differently until the show air. He made me promise not to tell anyone until it was on tv.

“Oh fine. I promise,” I sighed.

“Thanks Cammy.”

I walked to my locker and saw Ariana standing there, smiling at me.

“Oh hey Ariana! What’s up with you? Let me guess. The date went so well that he asked you to marry you,” I joked. She playfully slapped my arm but kept on smiling.

“Well the date did go well and I have a good feeling that we’re going to make it official soon,” she replied. I screamed and well… I ended up in the principal’s office for ‘disturbing the school’.

“So, Miss Marshall, it seems that you have been sent to me because you were disturbing the school. Care to explain?” Mr Powell asked.

“I-um, don’t know what I did. I mean, I screamed because I was excited for my friend. That’s all,” I answered truthfully. He looked at me weirdly. Did I have something on my face?

“And what were you excited about?” he asked.

“Well, my friend went out on a date and she told me that it went well so I was screaming happily for her. Is that a crime?” I replied with an innocent smile.

“Uh… no? It’s not a crime but-”

“So can I go then or I’ll be late to class?” I asked innocently.

“Y-yeah, just, don’t scream next time please,” he said. I nodded and quickly ran out.

I met up with Jayden after school and he smirked.

“What? Is there something on my face?” I asked, panicking.

“No, Ariana told me you got sent to the principal’s office this morning. Do you want to tell me what happened?” he asked.

“Basically I was sent to the principal’s office because I was screaming and apparently ‘disturbing the school’. Seriously, it’s school. Of course you’re going to hear screaming. Especially in primary school with all the little kiddies around,” I replied.

“Cammy!”

“What? I can’t see why I can’t scream when I’m excited for someone,” I protested.

“But, you didn’t have to scream, did you?” Jayde asked trying to put some sense into me.

“I’m a girl. It’s what we do when we’re excited,” I shrugged my shoulders. By this time, we were walking out of the school gates, excited to go home. Well, I wasn’t really. My mum’s probably going to be home and ugh, she better be lying about getting married or I will hit someone with a chair. We walked our separate paths as usual and I entered the quiet house uncomfortably.

Todd came running to me with a giant smile and hugged me.

“Big sista is home!” he squealed as I picked him up.

“Ooft, what have you been eating Todd? You’re getting a bit heavy for me,” I joked and he pouted.

“Meany poo,” Todd stuck his tongue out before giggling. I put him on the ground and he ran off, wanting to play with his toys.

I walked up the stairs towards my mum’s room, shaking a little bit. I opened the door slowly and saw my mum sleeping on the bed. I didn’t want to wake her up but you know what, I need to know if she is actually getting married.

“Mum,” I said softly, shaking her a little bit. Her eyes slowly opened.

“Hm? What’s wrong Cammy?” she asked groggily.

“I just want to know, is it true? You’re getting married next week?” I asked carefully.

“Yes it is. His name is Colin. He is a great man and well, I’m sorry that there’s a lot to process but Cammy, I’m happy that I’m getting married again. I’ve been so lonely for a long time ever since your father died. Promise me, you’ll be happy for me,” she said. I didn’t know what to say. I sort of trembled.

“Fine, but if he hurts any of us, especially you, I’m leaving,” I replied and walked out. What am I doing?

Hey guys, sorry that I didn't update but I've been extremely busy and stuff. It's a shit chapter and I'm sorry. I wrote it at 11pm last night... and yeah.

It makes me incredibly happy! ^.^ <3 I feel terrible for not updating and to make it worse, I'm going away on the 23rd until NEw Years so I won't be updating then.
