"Hey Todoroki!" The red and white haired boy turned to face the excited greenette who clearly was bubbling with some news about something exciting.
"Hello Midoriya, what's up?" He asked keeping his usual monotone expression and tone of voice.
"Do you remember that statue in the park a couple blocks from UA? The one of the girl breathing fire with dragon wings?"
"The one with no pedestal? Of course I do. My father mentioned it a few days ago as well."
"I'm not surprised actually! The press apparently was just released information that some kids were metal detecting in the park and the detector started to go insane around the statue. They told a local hero and the police got involved. It's a huge thing now! I ran past the park this morning on my run and it was cautioned off and there was a large mass of police and heroes alike! It was so cool!" Midoriya rushed out, he had clearly been bursting to tell someone. It was obvious through the expression on his face.
Now that he thought about it his father had mentioned something about a statue a few days ago. He hadn't really been paying attention though. "That's interesting I wonder what they'll find there?"
Denki Kaminari approached the two boys. "Hey are you guys talking about the statue?" The two of them nodded, "some of us were planning to head down there after school to check it out, you two want to come?"
"Sure that sounds awesome!" Midoriya said and Todoroki nodded in agreement.
"Awesome! See you guys in class then!" He shouted as he bounded towards Hitoshi Shinsou who was walking past them. The dual haired boy and the greenette headed towards their classroom, Midoriya doing most of the talking.
It was a few moments later when the bell had rung when their teacher finally entered the room, later than usual for him. He was followed by All Might in his skeletal form and the rescue hero Thirteen. "Sorry for our lateness, the staff meeting went over time as we had an important decision to make concerning you problem children." Winces went through the class at their teachers harsh words.
All Might cleared his throat before starting to speak, "As you are all aware I'm sure, of the statue in the park not too far from here has been setting off metal detectors. We talked to the police department in charge of the situation and they gave us permission to let the two hero classes have a lesson on this kind of situation," Thirteen took over,
"This will be a hands on lesson and you will be learning how to use some of the equipment the police have with them for a situation where there is a shortage of officers and you are needed. This will require you to be serious and with no fooling around. The punishment will be severe so we expect the best behaviour from all of you,"
"Alright go change and meet us by the front entrance in 10 minutes," Aizawa said as he clicked a button and their costume cases slid out of the wall.
Cases were grabbed and the students filed out of the rooms. As soon as they were out of earshot of the classroom chatter broke out amongst them, excitement, worry and indifference. They split into the change rooms and were soon reunited at the entrance of the school where they were soon joined by class b. They set off, students mingling from different classes.
It only took a couple of minutes to reach the closed off park. They were greeted by one of the detectives who held up the caution tape for the students and teachers to enter. The teachers discussed with him for a few minutes before leading the large and oddly silent group over to the statue.
The statue which once gave off an aura of calm to the students now gave off a feeling of violent and unchecked power. The unnatural smell of sulfer surrounded the area mixed with a smokey scent like a campfire. The group simply stood there for a moment, just taking in the statue.
