Sejun's POV

The sky was grey, downcast with the promise of rain. I could hear thunder rumbling in the distance.

"Pau!"

I looked back and saw Gab screaming my name. I saw her running towards me at full speed.

My heart thumped loudly when I saw her. Gab was calling me. My Gab was calling me.

But something was wrong. Her face was flushed, her hair escaping from her ponytail, trepidation written all over her face. It was like she was being chased.

"Pau!" She called again, more urgent, more fearful.

I wanted to run to her. I wanted to assure her that everything was alright. I am here. I am here for her. We can weather whatever comes our way as long as we're together.

Lightning flashed.

Thunder rumbled.

The rain started pouring down.

"Pau!" Gab called a third time.

I tried running towards her, but my foot was stuck. It was like I was glued to the spot.

"Gab!" I called, willing my feet to move. I struggled, wanting to move forward, to move towards her.

Why am I not moving? Why was I stuck in the same spot?

Out of nowhere, a whirlwind appeared behind Gab. My eyes widened. She had to run faster. She had to swerve away from the direction of the wind.

"Gab, come on. Faster!" I told her. I needed to save Gab. I can't lose her.

"Pau!" She screamed one last time as the wind overtook her, and she was swept away.

It was like I got stabbed. Pain bloomed in my chest.

The weather suddenly changed. The sky cleared, and the sun shone. The scenery was beautiful.

But Gab was gone. She was nowhere to be found.

Gab had left.

Gab left me.

Gab left me again.

I screamed, and my knees gave out. I punched the ground again and again in anguish. The pain was too great. My heart was shattered all over again.

I screamed again and again until my voice was hoarse and my throat was sore.

She's gone.

She's gone.

She's gone.

I woke up with a start, my heart pounding, sweat poured out of my body.

I tried taking deep breaths, trying to calm myself. It's just a dream; I told myself repeatedly as I reached for the water bottle that I placed on my bedside table. I drained the liquid, praying that it would help calm my heart down.
