the first week of chou's second year was the longest week of her life. every second felt like an hour, especially with suna annoying the shit out of her every single day.

she had attended the volleyball practice everyday, getting used to her duties as a manager. and used to the boys, she was somewhat comfortable now after the first week.

she would never admit it, but by thursday she was almost enjoying herself. laughing with kita and ojiro, it was almost like she was among friends. she had gotten to know everyone, learned their names. she felt comfortable like she was part of the team now since everyone was so open.

now it was now friday and she was being bombarded by text messages.

chou shishido:

it's just been such a long week.
i'm sorry! but i hope you have fun :)

kita:

chou huffed with relief as she saw no one got angry at her for deciding not to go to the party. she was sitting at the table in her classroom waiting for break to be over, it was the last one of the day. after this break she would be free for at least two days.

she was ripped out of her thoughts by suna sitting down next to her, returning from wherever he goes during break.

"hey chibi-chan." he said, waiting for her to get mad and say something back.

however, she only sighed and said "hi suna."

"woah what's your deal, your being... pleasant." he said to her.

"wow, thanks. and i'm exhausted this has been the longest week ever. how are you not tired?" she said while staring at him.

"so do you just not see me sleeping all of class or what?" he said like she was an idiot.

"actually yes, i do see that. and you should stop. you're going to fail."

"well if i'm failing, you'll help me study. yeah?
you look smart." he said pointing at her head.

"i don't want to help you if you can't even help yourself, suna." she said pointing back at him.

"aww, you're so mean to me chou." he said as he reached over and squished her cheeks with his hand like you would to a baby.

"quit it." she said slapping his hand.

"ah." he shook his hand. "that hurt."

"well then don't touch me." she said while she started to scribble reminders in her planner.

"okay then i won't touch you." he said as he reached over and took her necklace in his hand, playing with the butterfly pendent. "this is really pretty, your name means butterfly doesn't it?"

"yes, now let go of it." she said sitting there like a dog on a leash.

"hmm. doesn't suit you." he said as he pulled her forward by the chain and flicked her on the forehead.

"oi! don't pull on it, you'll break it!" she said while glaring at him and rubbing her forehead.

"oh, so it means something to you huh?" he said cocking an eyebrow.

"yes, it's important to me. it's from my father, i'd do anything to keep your dumbass from breaking it." she said looking forward while playing with the pendent herself.

"oh, anything huh?" he said with a smirk.

"no, not anything. especially not anything for you. now quit being touchy touchy and let me write this stuff down." she said returning to her planner. suna was about to snap back at her when the teacher called for chou from the door way.

"hey chou, do you happen to know where—"

she turned toward the doorway and was trying to listen, but was being distracted by something touching the back of her neck and hair.

"i'm sorry, no ma'am i do not know where they are. the front desk may know however." she said not even knowing what the teacher had asked.

"alright, thank you chou. and class is dismissed. you may leave at any time, if you need me i will be in the front office." she said as she walked away, the final bell ringing seconds after.

chou waited until the teacher walked away to turn and punch suna in his arm.
"hey! what the hell were you doing?!" she whisper yelled to him.

"oi! stop hitting me! i just wanted to touch your hair!" he said with his hands up.

"you embarrassed me!" she said standing up with a slight blush on her cheeks. she then proceeded to storm out of the classroom.

"god, so touchy." he said while he laughed to himself. he then whipped his phone out, making a new group chat.

suna:
oi, guys.

atsumu:
what, why'd you make a gc
without chou-chan in it?

osamu:
what's up

kita:
what'd you do this time?

suna:
i have a way to get chou
to come to the party.

atsumu:
REALLY?? HOW?

———————————————————————

suna smirked as he looked down at the golden butterfly necklace he held in his hand.
"anything huh?" he said quietly to himself while laughing and picked his phone up again.

suna:
btw we don't have practice
on friday's so you can go home.

chibi-chan:
great, i didn't want to
see your stupid face
again anyways.

suna got up to leave the classroom, tucking the necklace in his pocket. 'ah, if only you knew chou-chan.' he thought.
