Chapter 8: Time's Up

It felt like time itself simply stopped, Lin glanced at the bullet. It was over now, what could he even do? It was to late to move out of the way and it's not like he can survive a bullet to the head, Lin thought for a moment. . .about the very little good time he spent with Puro. . .atleast it wasn't a waste right? It felt cliche to Lin, that he would die in such a wasteful way. He couldn't even protect the one thing in the entire world that he cared about most, this was it, Lin couldn't think about anything more and decided to just accept his fate. He lived a short yet happy life, atleast he could say his true feelings before he went on, Lin felt incomplete. Almost as if this wasn't fate and it shouldn't happen yet it is, time was starting to get present and Lin could feel the coldness of his death behind him. If only he could protect Puro a little longer.

A couple of months back

Lin wandered the empty and Latex covered Lab, having no idea what to do at this point. He kept reading these random notes telling him how to get passed these Latex creatures. . .they seemed to be left by some unknown person or entity, it didn't matter right now as Lin continued to carefully sneak around the Latex creatures. Eventually he entered what seemed to be a library, nothing was there except usual library stuff, books, shelves obviously, and a. . .black Latex creature? Lin thought this and went back to reality were he would be staring at a fluffy, white mask wearing black Latex who seemed to be reading a book. Lin was about to bolt away since all of the Latex he's met so far have either attempted to transfur him or kill him, until the Latex spoke in a kind voice. "Hello there, don't worry i'm not gonna hurt you. I'm not like the others here." The Latex said as he continued to read his book, tilting his head back and forth slowly. "W-Wait you mean. . .your not gonna try to kill me?" Lin said in confusion as the Latex glanced up from his book again. "Of course not, like I said, i'm not like the others here." The Latex said as Lin felt a bit more relaxed, relieved that there was a being here that wouldn't actually try to kill him. "Oh, well. . .whats your name? Err. . .do you actually have a name?" Lin said as he sat down on a stock pile of books in the corner. "Indeed I do! My names Puro, nice to meet you human." Puro said continuing to read his book. "Oh well ummm. . ." Lin decided not to tell Puro his name yet. "Well thats a nice name, I like it." Lin said trying to complement Puro to see his reaction, of course Puro went wide eyed for a second. "The human is complementing me already?!" Puro seemed in shock as Lin was now confused. "You mean there's been no o-other human or. . .thing that's complemented you?" Lin said as Puro looked away for a second. "Yeah, I am just only a black latex so I could see why no other Latex's complement me." Puro said as he glanced back at Lin. "You seem alot better then those other things, you can speak and your actually kind and nice and aren't trying to kill me." Lin said in a complementing way once again, Puro seemed to appreciate it. "That's because I actually want to help you, human!" Puro said in a determination like tone, Lin seemed excited that atleast something was gonna help him. "Really? C-Could you possibly help me escape?" Lin said, Puro seemed hesitant at first, after all he hasn't explored all of the lab, but none the less he agreed. "Of course! It may take a while though but it can be done." Puro said hopefully. "Great, so there is some hope around here." Lin said. "Of course there is, it's just the other Latex's make it a bit hard." Puro said as Lin seemed curious to ask something. "Is that what those things are called? Latex's?" Lin said as Puro disliked being called a 'thing' but didn't acknowledge it. "Yep, there's alot here, including me." Puro said as Lin sat next to him. "Well atleast I met a kind Latex like you to help me." Lin smiled slightly, he was already starting to like Puro's personality. "And i'm glad I met a kind human like you." Puro said back as Lin went a bit red from the complement, there was for sure some hope here for him. . .right?

Present day

"Lin!" Puro shouted, Lin felt a sharp pain like no other. He felt cold and tired as he tilted and eventually fell on the ground, Puro struggling to pick him up as he heard a bang sound. But it sounded far away, Lin's vision got blurry. He was exhausted and decided to close his eyes, it felt nice and warm to finally have the pain end but. . .it felt wrong. . .as if he was leaving someone behind. Was he? He couldn't even remember.
