Chapter 11: In My Way

Puro stood there, staring straight at Doctor. K. This was just like last time, Doctor. K had a pipe in his hand as he clenched it tightly while giving Puro a furious glare, Puro didn't need a weapon. All he needed to do is to beat Doctor. K for good and stop this madness. "I've beaten you before, what makes you think this will be any different?" Puro said, Doctor. K sighed. "Last time doesn't matter, I know your movements. I can and I will kill you very easily." Doctor. K said in a monotone like voice. "We'll see about that." Puro said, a bit angry. Doctor. K didn't attack at first, but instead simply walked up to Puro and was now face to face with him. "I'll make it quick if you cooperate, otherwise your partner over there will have to see your cold, painful death." Doctor. K would say this, Puro looked unfazed by this, he's gotten so many threats at this point this didn't really matter to him. "Don't get your hopes up." Puro said, glaring more at Doctor. K. Doctor. K didn't even hesitate at this point, he was sick and tired of all of this, he swung the pipe straight at Puro as hard as he could. Not losing his footing at all, Puro wasn't quick enough to put his hands up to block it, this ended up with him getting hit pretty close to the face. Stumbling back in the process, as Doctor. K quickly ran up to him again, swinging at him even quicker and putting more force into it as well. This time Puro took a quick step back, dodging the pipe hit as he backed up more. "Just stop, you don't have to do this." Puro said, backing up more. "I'm not letting my new experiment fail because of some other failed one." Doctor. K said, catching his breath, eventually swinging at Puro once again. Puro quickly caught the pipe, pulling back pretty hard in a attempt to rip it out of Doctor. K's hands, Doctor. K lost his footing a bit. The pipe was almost out of his hands, until Doctor. K kicked Puro's leg as hard as he could, this caused Puro to let out a cry of pain as he fell down and now was on his knees, Doctor. K wasn't stopping as he then swung the pipe again and hit Puro right in the face this time. Puro fell down on his back now, he had no choice but to fight back at this point or he would die, Puro quickly looked around and spotted a sharp rock. It wasn't gonna do to much damage, but it definitely was gonna hurt him, Puro then would quickly grab the rock and swing it at Doctor. K's face as hard as he could. Doctor. K got hit by the rock, making him stumble back as Puro struggled to get up again, once he did Puro would run over to one of the unconscious Hunters, once he did Puro would grab a pipe that was attached to the Hunters pocket. Puro now had a weapon but he didn't have much time to celebrate before Doctor. K charged at him again, swinging his pipe very quickly at Puro, Puro would use the pipe he just found to block the swing, eventually using the same strategy that Doctor. K used as he kicked Doctor. K right in the kneecap. Doctor. K lost his footing as he slipped and fell down to his knees, Puro was hesitant but swung at Doctor. K again, Doctor. K fell down as he was hurt. Puro didn't swing again, instead he decided that there might be a peaceful solution to this. "P-Please, just listen. Stopping is going to fix everything, we could work together and try to fix this broken world. You just have to stop fighting." Puro said, Doctor. K was already hurt and tired at this point so maybe deciding to stop might bring an end to this. It took a while for Doctor. K to speak, he wanted to think about this for a moment. ". . .Maybe. . . .maybe your right. . .stopping and helping you out might be a better plan. . .doing this experiment is getting me nowhere and. . .I don't think it ever will." Doctor. K said this, clutching his stomach as he was still on his knees still. "E-Exactly! So helping us would be a much better idea!" Puro tried to sound happy and positive, but this was hard as he was hurt pretty badly. Eventually Puro would reach his hand out as Doctor. K grabbed it and Puro helped him up, Doctor. K looked exhausted and so did Puro. Puro would let out a sigh of relief, before feeling a sharp pain in his side as he fell over, Puro looked up to see Doctor. K standing there. Silient. He felt so stupid, thinking that Doctor. K could really be trusted, his vision was starting to get hazy as the last thing he could see was Doctor. K raising a pipe. Puro closed his eyes as he was ready for his fate, except. . .it didn't come, instead Puro heard a loud clanking noise as he saw Doctor. K fall to the ground. His masked cracked, Puro looked up to see someone. . . .that someone wasn't just anyone, but none other then Lin, Lin looked exhausted and you could tell he obviously was still having some side effects from the anesthesia. "P-Puro, are you alright??" Lin said worryingly as he would help Puro up, having some trouble in the process. "Y-Yeah, I'm okay j-just. . .really tired." Puro said, his head hurting as he let out a sigh. Lin would tightly hug Puro, just happy that he was okay after that experience. Puro would hug back, smiling slightly, it was over. They beat the Hunters and even Doctor. K now, they just had to get far away and Doctor. K and the Hunters wouldn't be able to track them. The hug lasted for a while, before they both finally let go. "We. . .we did it." Lin said, in a happy yet tired tone. "We. . .we did!" Puro said cheerfully, he was so exhausted from constantly having to run away and hide. "Now all we have to do, is to leave and get as far away from this city as we can." Lin said, Puro nodded. After a while they both took one last look at everything, before setting off and now exiting the city, this was it. They were finally free and they wouldn't have to worry about this again, Puro felt exhausted, tired, but. . .happy. Lin felt the same, now looking ahead. Ready for the actual, real start to their new beginning.
