Middle School

It was a genuinely boring day, it was their last year of middle school, and then highschool,
Katsuki and Izuku were always in the same classes, and it always made Katsuki feel better, because Izukus health seemed to be degrading over time.

Katsuki was always prepared for Izuku, he knew much more about his illness as well. Katsuki would always have an extra handkerchief, and an extra one of Izukus prescribed inhalers.
Izukus lungs were progressively getting worse. But despite the asthma, it was almost like Izukus lungs were thinning out, shriveling up. At the beginning of the year Izukus left lung had randomly collapsed sending him into an emergency surgery. His lungs aren't able to keep up with him anymore. And it's holding him back, he regularly gets asthma attacks, he'd have regular coughing fits which would end up with him spitting up blood, which explains Katsuki's handkerchief.
Other than Izukus lungs, his joints would constantly tense, making it painful for him to move around, if not that, just hard, he takes medication for it, but staying in the same position for too long causes his joints to stiffen like a doll. Because of this new issue he is instructed to stretch three times a day,
in which Katsuki does with him so he isn't alone.

Katsuki knows a lot about Izuku, except one simple thing, and Izuku lacks to mention. Izuku has bullies, they only pick on him when Katsuki isn't around him. They call him Quirkless because his quirk seems worthless, it's dumb, and it can't save lives.
Izukus dream school is UA, but he plans to go into the support course.
The other kids make fun of Izuku due to him wanting to go to UA. They bully him over his health, and his quirk. Overall, it's only been verbal, very rarely does it get physical, because last time it did, Izuku was in the hospital for a week, not because they beat him badly, but because his body is so fragile.
When Katsuki found out, the boys that picked on Izuku, were in the hospital for two to three weeks. Katsuki lacks any remorse towards people who treat Izuku poorly. It aggravates him.
Even after that incident, the bullies never stopped. Katsuki assumed they did because Izuku always seemed fine, and he never spoke about it towards him.
——

It was nearing the end of the day, Izuku and Katsuki sat by the front of the room, Katsuki sat behind him while Izuku sat in front.

Izuku often didn't take notes, but just listened repeating what the teacher says below a mutter.

Katsuki had tapped Izukus shoulder making him jump and look at the blond behind him. "K-Kacchan?", he whispered as Katsuki stared at him. "Shh. That's annoying Deku..", Katsuki mumbled then looked out the window.

Izuku sighed and laid his head down upon the desk waiting for the bell to ring.

A few minutes passed as Katsuki looked at Izuku's back, he furrowed his brows being able to see Izuku's spine through his uniform. Subconsciously he traced his finger down the middle of Izuku's back feeling his prominent spine; he had been getting thinner.
Izuku jumped sitting straight in response to the touch. "Wh-what? What?", Izuku turned looking at the blond.

"You've been eating right..?", Katsuki mumbled worried for the frail boys health. "Right..? Deku..?",

The bell rang and Izuku stood dodging the question, he picked up his bag slugging it over his shoulder, Katsuki caught on and stood. He'd have to get Izuku to eat, even if he refuses. His body too frail to skip a meal.

"Let's go.. I want to sleep..", Izuku glanced at the blond as he stood grabbing his bag. "You have to stretch first. Tell your dad you'll be at my place so you don't worry him-",
"It's fine, he won't be home until midnight again. I can just go to your place..", he sighed stretching his arms forwards a bit.
Katsuki shrugged and walked towards the classroom door as Izuku followed.
