Izuku had been sitting at Katsuki's desk in his room, he was pointing to Katsuki's math homework walking him step by step through each problem he didn't understand.
Katsuki had always helped Izuku, so if Izuku got to help Katsuki, it gave him a sense relief, and satisfaction that he could also be relied on."Wait- Wait how'd you get thirty-six B!?", Katsuki shouted confused.
"What- I-I just explained, Kacchan.. its written how to right here.",
"But how-",
"Twelve times three is Thirty-Six. Then you bring down the b because it's not asking what b is. It's just asking for the missing side of the isosceles triangle, it only gave you the side of c- which is the biggest side. But since we don't know a or b they put in as x with an exponent of two.", Izuku sighed.
"I've written the formula four times now Kacchan.. it's not that hard..",
"Well not to you! You have a quirk that makes you smarter! I don't!", the blond huffed annoyed. Izuku immediately went quiet knowing Katsuki was right, he felt bad for not being as patient with him. "I'm sorry kacchan.." Izuku mumbled. Izukus hand shook slightly as he pointed to the same problem and explained it again for Katsuki. Math was always a challenge for Katsuki, he never picked up on it as quick as others, although other subjects for him were easy, like English, Japanese, history, and Language Arts. But math was his failing subject.Izuku sighed again and wrote the formula once more, for him and showed him how to solve the problem. "Wait until we do word problems with these, and get no picture-",
"Aye what?! This is already hard enough!!", Katsuki grumbled snapping his pencil.
Izuku let out a small giggle from his reaction and relaxed.Being able to help Katsuki was something Izuku looked forward to everyday. Because Katsuki always helping him made him feel as if he were a burden, it left a heavy sense of guilt within his chest and although he knew he wasn't a burden, the lingering feeling never dissipated.
The sun had set and it was nearing dark, "I'll walk you home.", Katsuki mumbled shoving his homework messily in his backpack.
"K-Kacchan!! Don't do that!",
Izuku whined grabbing his backpack and straightening the papers out, after placing them neatly in his backpack.
"What the fuck mom." Katsuki mumbled taking his backpack from Izuku.
"I'm not your mom! And no cussing. It's not nice!",
"Yeah yeah.."
Izuku shrugged and stood slowly as his knees and hips popped. "Oh.." his face flushed a bit embarrassed.
Katsuki disregarded his joints popping and ruffed his hair "mom.", he mumbled continuing his joke. And then sat his backpack by his bed, he grabbed Izukus bag and then left the room, "let's go."Izuku began to follow but tripped, he quickly caught himself and noticed that his left ankle didn't budge, it was locked in place, he tried to pop it and roll it out quickly before Katsuki noticed he wasn't following, but Katsuki already noticed and was standing at the door. "Deku? What's wrong?" Katsuki walked over with the backpack over his shoulder still. "Is it your ankle? Does it hurt?" Katsuki immediately kneeled down and grabbed Izukus ankle moving his pant leg up slightly. Izuku sat in the chair, "Kacchan.. you don't need to do that.. it's just locked.. I can walk, I promise!"
Katsuki shrugged and gently rolled his ankle as it loosened and popped. "Hn-" Izuku tensed and winced, it definitely hurt, but it's not stuck anymore.
"You good now?"
Izuku nodded and they both stood, "let's go then."They left kacchans room and then the house. Izukus father had been working much more due to their apartment rent going up over the years. Izuku also didn't like being home since his father wasn't ever really home, it was really quiet, and overly lonely. He never complained to Katsuki about it, and Katsuki has been almost completely left in the dark about Izukus home life given that he's always at Katsuki's house.
But today he had been feeling overly anxious, he hadn't known what it was stemming from, but it was truly bothering him.Izukus apartment was a fifteen minute walk from Katsuki house, it often took twenty to twenty five minutes because Izuku sometimes needs a break.
But the walk home gave Izuku time to think, and his anxieties grew worse as he approached his complex. His collar turned a bright yellow looking upon the building, he quickly looked down at his hands as his breathing became irregular. "K-Kacchan?.. ca-can you.. I-.."Katsuki looked at him, it was hard not to notice the bright yellow light in the dark, he also took notice to Izuku breathing patterns. "What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Katsuki asked immediately. "Where?"
Izuku shook his head, "what's wrong then?" Katsuki mumbled
"I don't know..." Izuku exhaled shakily.
"Kacchan.. can you stay.. the night.. I'm.. I-I'm scared.." he began to pick at his fingers shaking softly. Katsuki furrowed his brows, what could he possibly be scared of? It was a silent and safe walk home, what set him off?
Katsuki turned to him and gave him his backpack. "You'll be ok. Your dad is probably inside waiting for you."
Izuku looked at him quickly. His dad recently went on a business trip to the states for a higher pay check. But Katsuki didn't know. Izukus dad had been in the states for over a week. Izukus chest ached as his collar began to blink yellow. "Izuku?"
Katsuki asked snapping his fingers at him. "You're just staring? What's wrong?"
"My dad isn't home.."
Izuku mumbled knowing he should have told Katsuki before his dad left. He looked down as he began gasping lightly. "Please.. stay over.. I'm scared.."
Katsuki nodded and immediately texted his mom. He understood why Izuku has seemed out of it recently, and why he hasn't been eating, before his dad would take them out to eat to dinner and recently he's stopped, but Katsuki never asked about it. It was like a treat, not a routine.
Katsuki took Izukus backpack and put it back over his shoulder and began walking inside, "let's go.. I'll stay the night. When will your dad be home?" Katsuki looked at him as Izuku picked at his hands. He sighed and grabbed his hands making him stop. "Deku." He said sternly grabbing his attention.
Izuku quickly looked up at him "n-next month.. probably.. I-I assume.." Izuku mumbled looking back down.
Katsuki was furious that Izuku didn't tell him, and it was visible, you could see the rage in his eyes as he clenched the backpack strap, his quirk slightly activating.
Izuku glanced at him every now and then, he'd take an angry Katsuki over no Katsuki any day.Izuku unlocked the front door and entered as Katsuki followed, "Were you going to tell me at all that your father left you alone entirely? You didn't even tell my mom."
Izuku looked at him then down and shrugged "I just sleep here.. I thought it wasn't necessary.. I'm sorry.."
Katsuki placed the backpack by the door, "go get ready for bed, I'm going to head back home and grab some of my things"
Izuku quickly looked at him, "N-No! You cant! Y-you can't!" He yelled panicked grabbing his wrist. "Please!"
Katsuki's eyes widened at his reaction. "Izuku.. what's going on with you?" He turned to him completely confronting him. "What the hell is going on with you?"
Izuku tensed. "I-I don't know.. my chest.. my chest aches.. I-I'm scared.. s-something-" Izuku hiccuped letting go of him and messing with his shirt. "Something is wrong.. pl-please stay.." Izuku mumbled.
"What are you scared of?" Katsuki mumbled. Is he scared for himself, for Katsuki, or for both.
"Izuku, you scaring ME. What the fuck is going on?" Izuku clearly began to piss him off.
But it was only a feeling, he didn't know. But this feeling terrified him.
"Stay.." he mumbled beginning to tremble.
Katsuki furrowed his brows, "go get ready for bed. I'll sleep on the couch."
Izuku nodded and did so immediately as Katsuki laid on the couch.
