Hoya waved to me when he spotted me approaching him. I smiled in acknowledgement.

Other couples had already gathered behind the glass door. We had been told to gather there and line up. Hoya and I were in the middle of the queue. We would soon enter the hall, walking on the red carpet. My heart fluttered with excitement.

Once the media person in charge of the crowd signalled for the first couples in line to enter, Hoya put his arm up to allow me to put my hand through. I looked at him with a smile and put my hand into his arm. He smiled too. We followed  closely behind the couple in front of us and moved forward.

When we entered the hall, we heard a crowd cheering for all of us. I looked at the surrounding to look at the people. I grinned wide as I saw some familiar faces. Hoya shook me with the arm where I put my hand. I looked up and saw that he was pointing at a group of guys and told me to wave at them too.

Despite not knowing them, I smiled and waved. I was just overflowing with joy that I was willing to  be nice to everyone even if I hated them. I looked back to the front and halted. We had to face the right while the other couples at our front and back faced the left. We had to stand in alternate patterns and pose. I couldn't help but laugh. It was exciting yet nerve-wrecking at the same time.

When all of that was over, we invited to have a dance session. Hoya invited me for a dance and I gladly accepted it. I still felt wary because I was afraid that he had a liking towards me. We moved slowly to the music. My arms were around his shoulders while his arms were wrapped on my waist. I didn't know where to look and just stared at his chest.

"Hey." Hoya initiated the conversation.

I looked up but my eyes kept averting from him. "Yeah?"

"Sorry for snapping on you just now. Its just frustrating to have someone give you the same excuse over and over again. Its not like the whole school doesn't know we've been friends for a long time. So it shouldn't pose as a problem." Hoya explained.

I nodded. "I'm sorry too. I didn't know you felt that way. I wasn't sensitive enough towards you."

We were silent for a while until I popped the question.

"Hoya. Do you like me?" I asked.

He looked surprised. "Of course I do. You're my long term friend!"

"No, I mean, do you like me as a potential girlfriend." I asked but I didn't dare look up.

When I heard no reply, I looked up at him. He had a look I couldn't put a thumb on. He stared into my eyes and I felt overwhelmed by the sudden change in atmosphere.

"N-No. I couldn't. You're my good friend Youngji. I don't want that to change." Hoya finally said.

I heaved a breath. That was a relief. However so, I just couldn't convince myself that he was telling the truth.

Minji had been escorted home by Jongin so Hoya had offered to send me home. It was rather dark and I was very wary when it came to walking home alone at night. I wasn't the brave kind and I was very grateful that Hoya was sending me home.

"So I guess we would be seeing each other less often huh?" Hoya said.

"I guess so. We're taking different courses." I replied.

Hoya smiled widely. "Oh well, we would still see each other after school. So it wouldn't be so bad."

I laughed. "Yea..."

"I've reached home." I said and turned to Hoya.

He looked rather disappointed. "Oh.."

"Thanks Hoya. I really appreciate you walking me home." I patted the side of his shoulder.

"Can I hug you?" Hoya asked.

I widened my eyes. No guy has ever done that. Not even my own brother.

"Umm, why?" I asked.

"I just feel like it. We're gonna rarely see each other soon." He reasoned.

I nodded in agreement and opened up my arms for a hug. We hugged in a friendly manner and laughed when we retracted. I'll miss him.

"See you soon buddy." I grinned at Hoya.
