SD saves Noot before he could commit suicide

The moment he saw him he knew he was special. He didn't exactly know how or why, but he could just feel it. From how he looked all the the way to how he acted, it just spoke to him. Whatever the other did, he just praised and admired. Whatever he said held him in place and he hung on every single word. His mere presence just made him shiver with pure delight. He was everything to him and he was absolutely sure of it.

Of course, he didn't know about this. Sun never told or showed him any indication of such. Well, his stalking anyway, his attraction for Nightmare however was pretty well known by now. Yes, he had made it a habit to stalk the king of negativity now since it was one of the only ways he could actually see him more. He was very aware of how creepy it may seem, but he could honestly care less just as long as he could see his beloved Darling.

It also let him see who he was close to and how he was doing without having to ask him directly. So when he saw what had been happening to him in the past few months, he had become a bit anxious. His Darling was being abandoned by his own group, though some for much more understandable reasons then others. He had to watch as his Darling broke down completely and blame himself for something he had no control over. Watched as he slowly lost himself to the sorrow he felt and resort to physical pain in order to erase the mental and emotional ones that plagued his being. Watched as he carved more bloody lines into his beautiful form.

It hurt him to watch.

Not only because his Darling was hurting himself so much, but because he could also see his past happening before his eyes. It was just so eerily similar that it struck something deep inside him. Of course not everything is the same, but the situation and the feelings involved were reminiscent of his past experiences.

"How I wish I could help you, Darling." He muttered sadly to himself.

Sun couldn't do anything for Nightmare right now. They had made an agreement that unless ones life is at stake, each Multiverse guardian should not meddle with the life of another guardian. So as long as his Darling didn't put his life at risk then there was nothing he could do that wouldn't break some of the agreements. As much as he wanted to see Nightmare in person again, he did not want it to be under those circumstances. For now all he could do was watch from afar and hope that he gets better with time.

"I do hope you'll be better next time we meet in person." He mutters to himself and gently caresses the image of Nightmare being displayed on his orb, a longing look on his features mixed with love and sorrow.

--------•••--------

Nightmare smiled as another cut was made on his bones, crimson liquid seeping from within. The pain he got was comforting to him, not because he enjoyed pain or anything, but because it distracted him from the more emotional hurt that was inside him. It made him forget about the loneliness that he felt right now even if it was only for a moment.

Although, why was he even allowing himself to feel this? He knows that there's a much simpler solution. A quick stab to the SOUL and all of it will stop, no more pain both emotional and physical. So why hasn't he done that yet? Why hasn't he taken the step to end it all?

He was still waiting. Waiting to see if the others would return. Nightmare still had some Hope that if he waited for them long enough, eventually they'll come back and they could be a family again.

... Family.

What a strange word. What did it mean, really? He's been told by a few people that they were that but he doesn't know what it truly means to be a family, at least not anymore. For the most part a good majority of people consider those related by blood to be family, so Dream was family then. But with others he's seen them consider people who they cherish and are close to as family, people that they connect to and have a deep bond with. Then the gang was also his family then.
