Nick's POV

I woke up the next morning alone in my bed. Olivia had to leave early for some projects and she won't be coming back for a few days. So I was left to vend for myself.

I looked over at the clock while I got dressed. 10:45, man I've been asleep for a while. I actually felt like I was dealing with a emotional hangover. After what happened last night, who wouldn't?

After I ate breakfast I checked my diabetes. I should've figured it was low since this nauseous had caped over. I grabbed a cup of juice out of the fridge then sat down at my piano.

The vibration in my pocket caused me to dropped and spill it all over the carpet area that surrounded my piano. I sighed loudly then quickly answered it.

"Hello?" I didn't even bother looking at my caller ID.

"Hey Nick, are you still coming tonight?" I was quiet surprised to hear Shannon's voice. It was a little low but still had that sweetness in it.

"Uh, yeah of course I'm still coming." I quickly grabbed a towel and pressed it down on the carpet. Thank goodness it's black. I walked to the fridge and examined the inside of it. "Oh great," I said sarcastically.

"What? What's wrong?" She asked as I made my way to the cabinet. I pulled a bag of fruit snacks and started to eat.

"Nothing, I'm a little low and you caused me to spill my juice. It's all good for now. I had a back-up plan."

"Awww Nick spilled his juice, how sad," she joked. I rolled my eyes and huffed into the phone.

"It was my favorite too," I joked back.

"Apple juice?"

"Yeah."

"Well, how are you feeling now?"

"A little better," I responded while placing a few fruit snacks in my mouth.

"Enough to come hang with me before the party?" I nearly choked.

"What?" I asked pounding my chest.

"What? We're best friends again aren't we? What's wrong with hanging out?"

"Nothing, the question..I wasn't expecting it...but sure I can come down, when?"

"Right now."

"Alright sure, so I'll see you in a couple of hours, my love." Okay, that did not mean to come out...at all.

"My love?" She asked in a serious tone. Time to play stupid if I want to save myself.

"No, I said my dove. You know the bird? I was thinking about them when you asked me," I lied.

"Alright then, I'll see you soon my penguin," she laughed. I laughed as well before hanging up. I think she bought it. I can only hope.

Durning my flight I couldn't stop thinking about what I called her. My love, what a strange set of words to say to her. My, she's not even mine anymore. Love, I actually never told her once that I loved her. As she reconciled the same with me. I still couldn't shake it off. I hope it doesn't get me in trouble. It just naturally flowed out.

I met Shannon at a little park across from the airport. She waved at me smiling as I did the same. When we met up, we both collided into each other's arms. She squeezed me as I cupped my hands around the back of her neck. She looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back combing her hair from her face. Her head rested under my chin as she leaned it back sideways against my chest. We then let go, although I wished we didn't.

It was cloudy and a little chilly here in New York. As Shannon and I walked around the park, I noticed her shivering. I took off my short dark green tench coat and placed it around her shoulder's. She smiled while she continued to look around at the scenery. We made a stop at a yellow bench and sat down.

A familiar tune floated into my ears from the parks speakers.

"I was born to tell you, I love you," I sang to myself remembering the lyrics.

"What?" She asked looking a little confused.

"The song, listen."

"And I am torn, to do what I have to. To make you mine, stay with me tonight." The song ended and we both looked at each other. We made this our song when we were little kids. We didn't know what is was talking about, but we both loved it anyways. Our favorite line was, 'Butterfly, early summer it's playing on repeat. Just like when we would meet. Like when we would meet.' I haven't heard it in years. I almost forgot it even insisted.

She looked down while snuggling up more in my coat.

"That's our song," she whispered silently. I scooted closer to her and placed my hand on hers. They were cold as ice. I cupped both in my hands and brought them up to my mouth. I let my breath warm them, then let them rest on my lips. She continued to look away from me, until I kissed her hand carelessly. Once our eyes met, I went for a kiss. It was an indescribable feeling when she didn't pull back. She rested her palm on my cheek as our fingers entwined beneath our chests. It was the most memorizing kissed I ever had. I wanted this moment to last a lifetime.
