Chapter 18

Olivia's POV

I watched as Nick's face began to fill with an emotional dazed looked. I walked to him and wrapped him in my arms.

"We can change the station. We don't have to listen to it," I said in his ear.

"No...I want to listen," he said without making eye contact. He continued to stare blankly at the radio. We silently listened as I continued cooking.

Shannon- Hi! Thanks so much for having me Ryan. I'm truly happy to be on your station.

Ryan- Haha! We're happy you're here. So tell me, how is life going for you?

Shannon- Oh it's been amazing. I love it here in New York. The people are so nice and the food is great.

Ryan- Well you can never go wrong with great food.

Shan- Exactly!

Ryan- The last time we saw you was on every cover of a News Magazine. How are you doing after that?

Shan- You know, that was a hard time for me and I believe it was the same for the other person involved. But that was almost three years ago.

Ryan- You're talking about Nick right?

Shan- Yes

Ryan- I've known Nick for many years and he's a great guy. So when all rumors started up..I didn't know what to think. I'm guessing that's what caused the break up, right?

Shan- Well, that didn't exactly help in the relationship. -laughs- But at that time I believe it showed that Nick and I aren't suppose to be.

Ryan- So there's no chance of you two getting back together?

Shan- I would that, I'm in a happy relationship that I've been in for almost two years. Plus I've heard about his new girlfriend and I couldn't be happier for him.

Ryan- I was going to say...So you don't feel jealous of his ridiculous gorgeous girlfriend?

Shan- Of course not! I think they're adorable together. She seems really sweet and he looks well taken care of.

Ryan- Okay, before we get into break I have to ask. You've known Nick since you were very young. And whenever Nick was here. He would talk up a storm about you and past feelings you two had. How do you break away from that?

Shan- It defiantly wasn't easy. It took loads of sleepless nights and wet pillows to get over. -laughs- He was a huge part of my life that I had to let go. It was the best for him and myself.

Ryan- Well that's great that you two have seemed to move on. So after the break I'll be talking more with Shannon and hear her awesome single. You don't want to miss this.

I turned the volume down and gave Nick his plate of Apple French Toast.

"Thanks baby," he said rubbing my arm as I sat next to him. I grabbed my fork and poked at my French Toast.

"Are you okay listening to this?" I asked taking a bite.

"Yeah, are you?"

"I am if you are. I think it's great that she's doing good. You two had a rough past."

"I agree, and like she said. We both moved on. She found a guy who treats her right. And I'm with the most beautiful women in the Universe." I smiled as I placed my hand on his leg. He grabbed it and we continued to eat.

"Oh she's back on," I announced turning the radio up.

Ryan- Shannon, tell me about your new song, "Jar of Hearts."

Shan- This is a song I wrote the first day I got to New York. It was late at Night and I was at my friends house. I couldn't sleep so I got up and wrote it at her piano. I played it for Joe and he loved it. He was the one who told me I should make a record in the first place.

Ryan- Joe as in Nick's brother? How did he do producing it? I heard he's a pain in the butt to work with. -laughs-

Shan- -laughs- He's always a pain in the butt! He did a great job and I couldn't of asked for a better one.
