Nick's POV

I fell asleep on the couch this afternoon while watching Football. My eyes twitched as my dream played back this memory.

Eight Years Ago

"How do I look?" Shannon asked twirling around. I looked up from my guitar and smiled.

"You look beautiful, Cameron is one lucky boy."

"I know, I've been dying, waiting for him to ask me out. I just can't wait! I'll see you later!" She ran and gave me a hug before she left at 7:05. My smile turned into a frown and my heart broke, why couldn't that be me? I strummed my guitar and sang the words deep in my heart.

"I was fine till 7:05
Till you walked out that door
And ran out of my life
Now you're gone
I move on
But it'll only would've taken two seconds to say good bye." I quickly got a piece of paper from my guitar case and wrote down the lyrics before I forget. I continued to sing until my door opened. Shannon walked in slowly with her head down. She sat on my bed and I wrapped my arms around her.

"What happened?" I asked stroking her hair.

"He stood me up. But once I went to leave I saw him kissing another girl." She softly cried in my shoulder.

"What a jerk," I said shaking my head. "I'm sorry that had happened to you." She noticed my piece of paper and grabbed it.

"What's this?" She asked cleaning her tears. I shifted on my bed.

"Oh um just a song I'm writing. It's not done and it's not that good."

"Play it," she smiled. I do love her smile. I'll do anything for it.

"Well okay then," I grabbed my guitar then placed it on my lap.

"We had a lot of good times when we were together
And I thought it would last forever you and I
I waited for so long and I couldn't wait to get your phone call
Seeing that'll be alright
That night you called me on the phone
You said you had to stay at home
Is their something I should know?

I was fine till 7:05
Till you walked out that door
And ran out of my life
Now you're gone
I'll move on
But it only would've taken two seconds to say good bye." Shannon placed her hand up.

"Was that when I called you saying I couldn't hang out?" Well, she caught me. I nodded my head as my cheeks turned pink. "Haha! It's okay, I had no idea you felt that way. I'm also quite flattered you wrote a song about me."

"Writing," I said. "The song isn't finished yet." She smiled widely and moved closer to me.

"Then why don't we finish it?" We spend the rest of the night talking about what happened to her. As she spoke, I wrote down everything that happened.

"Well that's it," I said dropping my pen.

"May I hear it?" I gave her a weak smile and continued singing where I left off.

Present Time

I wrote up with that song stuck in my head. I looked at my phone and saw it was 2:47 A.M. Sighing, I got up and got something to drink. As I made way back to my room. I grabbed my old guitar from the hallway. I sat on my bed and played that song until I fell asleep with my guitar. The same guitar I wrote it with.
