Waiting Too Long To Be Loved

Two weeks later, Harry stood in front of the "classroom" and started his first lesson.

"We'll be learning Expeliarmas, just to begin. It's a simple spell so I expect you'll master it fairly quickly. " He said, I already knew the spell but it had been forever since I had practiced it

I glanced over at Neville and waved. He smiled and waved back, I could tell he was slightly nervous but I knew he could do it.

I looked around the room to see who was there. The room held; Hannah Abbott, Lavender Brown, Katie Bell, Susan Bones, Terry Boot, Cho Chang, Michael Corner, Colin Creevey, Dennis Creevey, Marietta Edgecombe, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Seamus Finnigan, Anthony Goldstein, Hermione Granger, Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Ernie Macmillan, Padma Patil, Parvarti Patil, Harry Potter, Zacharias Smith, Alicia Spinnet, Dean Thomas, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, Ginny Weasley, and Ron Weasley. I got nervous seeing some people, especially Lee Jordan

I glanced at Lee Jordan and blushed a deep red. I had a slight crush on him, I didn't talk to him. I'm bold, but not that bold. He looked over at me and waved, I meekly waved back.

We stood in pairs, I paired with Luna of course.

"Expelliarmus!" I said but the spell didn't work. I sighed sadly but smiled at her

"Your turn-" I was interrupted "you forgot to go straight at first." Lee's said behind me.

I flinched, scared for multiple reasons. "oh-um thank you for telling me" I quickly said as he smiled.

"Anytime Y/N," he said and went back to Fred and George who nudged him. I blushed a deep red and looked at Luna smirked at me

"I forgot you had a crush on him" She held her wand out "but you should know by now that you shouldn't be distracted during a duel" She smiled and quickly disarmed me

"Not fair! Don't use my crush against me" I laughed, she shrugged

When the meeting ended I was so immersed in my conversation with Luna that I ran straight into Lee. I mentally punched myself, I had somehow made things between me and him more awkward.

"Shit, I'm sorry, I was talking to Luna and" Luna nudged me and I stopped before I could ramble

He laughed and helped me up. "No big deal, you get a pass" he winked at me and walked away. I turned around to Luna who smiled. We ended up getting stuck behind the twins and Lee.

"Awh does Lee have a little girlfriend" Fred pinched lee's cheek. George laughed "How adorable! Don't know why she would pick you though"

"George she's not my girlfriend, and Fred back off of her alright?" Lee said, his voice a little bitter at the end. Sensing the tension, Luna and I walked past them quickly

"He clearly likes you, why don't you just say you have feelings for him?" Luna leaned over

"Yeah, why don't you tell him," two synchronized voices said behind us. I turned around and saw the Twins smiling at me

I laughed "I don't want to break your heart, George!" Lee smirked and shoved George "So, to avoid breaking your heart by admitting I'm into your friend I'll just head to my class! Bye love"

I waved goodbye and turned around, exhaling slowly. I sat down and laid my head down on my desk, I had no idea what I was getting into

A few days later Luna and I walked into the Great Hall and sat down. I poured myself pumpkin juice as Luna began to whisper about Lee to me.

"...oh look who it is!" Luna pointed behind me, I turned around and saw Lee behind me

"Hi Y/N, can I sit?" He said as I choked on the drink.

I wiped my mouth and nodded "Yeah..that's cool" I looked over at Luna who nudged me and smiled

"Um, did you ever figure out the Expelliarmus?" He smiled, he glared at someone behind me and I turned around. I saw George quickly stop making kissy faces when he saw me look at him. I rolled my eyes and turned around

"He's a treat, isn't he? Also yeah, your advice helped." I smiled as he laughed.

"Well, I'm glad you understand now, will you be at the next meeting" He questioned me

I nodded "Of course I will." I said

He smiled and moved a piece of my hair behind my ear. I heard a slam from the Slytherin table and saw a blonde storming out of the great hall. I saw Blaise get up and follow him, I turned back to Lee

"Okay well...I came over here really just to ask you...out" he blushed

My eyes widened "I'd love to! I mean...yeah sure"

He smiled "Wait really?"

I nodded, he hesitantly held my hand. 'Can you meet me at the astronomy tower? So it can just be us two"

Luna hit my foot with hers and I nodded "Yeah, sounds cool, I'll see you there" Lunch had ended so I got up and walked out the hall. Luna stayed back to tell Neville.

The minute I walked down the hall I was "You chose Lee Jordan? Are you serious? Your standards have dropped low" Malfoy sneered

"Sorry, why do you care.? Wait actually never mind, I forgot that I don't care. So as I said the other day, don't. talk. to. me." I said trying to take my wrist from his grip.

"One, I don't care. I just think you are dating any guy you can and two." he tightened his grip. "you don't tell me what I can or cannot do whore" I inhaled sharply and opened the door

"You are lucky I didn't just slap you, don't call me, or any girl for that matter a whore again. If you do, I will be your worst nightmare. Alright?" I slammed the door behind me

Two weeks later I started at the terrain ahead of me, the chill of being this high frightened me. All the sudden the world around me went black

"Guess who," Lee said

"hmmm, Snape?"

He laughed "No, try again"

"Neville?" I smiled

"What?...Y/N I swear" He uncovered my eyes and I turned around

I gasped dramatically "Lee? What are you doing here?"

"You are the worst" lee sat next to me and laughed

I grabbed his hands "Thank you, for being my boyfriend...seriously. " I played with his fingers, analyzing every single mark, avoiding his eyes

He grabbed my chin softly and smiled "You're so beautiful Y/N" He rubbed his thumb against my cheek.

We talked for hours until I eventually got too tired to even say a full sentence. He decided to stay up there while I headed down to my common room. Malfoy across the entrance of the room

"what are you so happy about L/N," He said, walking closer to me, looking me up and down.

"None of your business Malfoy." I pushed past him and tried to walk into my room

"Stop doing this" he yelled at me

"Don't yell at me!" I said angrily. "I can do whatever I want and if I want to get a boyfriend instead of wasting my precious time interacting with you I will."

He gripped my wrist tightly, as tight as he had when he had me against the wall in the bathroom "I bet he doesn't even like you, he's probably just bored, who would ever be interested in you?"

"Um..you? I mean you have been looking me up and down..." I didn't understand why he would...I'm not much to look at but no one needs to know that's how I think of myself. He began to speak but I yawned lightly and ripped his hand off of me"I'm tired, and I hate talking to you so I'm going to bed. Have an awful time on night duty!" I saluted him

He watched me leave, clenching his fists as he stormed away.

Saying I was tired was an understatement, the minute I hit the pillow I fell asleep.
