Lily's POV

Hi, my name is Lily West and I'm sixteen years old. I live in a small city called Jasper Nevada. I'm living with my uncle Tom and cousin Wendy in a small house that once belonged to my grandparents. They both died when I was small. I never knew my parents. My father died in war two months before I was born, and my mom died giving birth to me. Tom was the brother of my father and together with Wendy, they were the only family I got.

Tom was working as a builder. He was working hard every day so I and Wendy would have everything we needed. But the bills for the medicine were expensive. Let me explain. Wendy lost her ability to walk. She was five years old when it happened. We were playing outside when suddenly she fainted. She was diagnosed with a rare desist that made her pearlized from her legs to her stomach. Tom was devastated. One year before Wendy got sick his wife died of cancer. Yes, we did not have an easy life, but we were happy.

I have one best friend and her name is Eliana, but I call her Eli for short. She was the daughter of the richest parents in Jasper Nevada. They were politicians. Eli has been my best friend since we were in kindergarten. She was a popular girl with amazing blond hair and brown eyes. Was I popular? No. I was the one many called LOSER.

With my hands crossed under my chest, I was walking down the street. I was on my way towards the pharmacy. Tom asked me if I could pick up the medicine for Wendy and of course, I said yes. I was wearing a dark blue shirt with a white skirt and blue shoes. On my back, I had my brown backpack that had five books in it.

As I open the doors of the pharmacy a nice voice greeted me behind the counter.

Mrs. Green: ''Hello Lily.''

Me: ''Hello Mrs. Green.''

Mrs. Green was a kind lady that worked in the pharmacy. She had dark skin with big black hair and brown eyes that showed only kindness. She was a small woman with a big heart.

Mrs. Green: ''It's nice to see you again Lily. How are you?''

Me: ''I'm good thank you.''

Mrs. Green: ''How is school going? And how are your uncle and Wendy?''

Me. ''School is good. Tom is working hard but he always takes time for Wendy and me. Wendy is happy and full of life.''

A smile came on Mrs. Green's face.

Mrs. Green: ''Oh yes Tom is a hard-working man. He is lucky to have you by his side.''

Me: ''Family is everything.''

Mrs. Green: ''I know. So, what brought you here?''

Me: ''We ran out of medicine for Wendy.''

Mrs. Green: ''Oh yes, let me get them for you.''

She said and I nodded my head. As she went to get them, I took my wallet out of my backpack. Mrs. Green came back.

Mrs. Green: ''I will have to order more soon.''

She said and I took the same amount of money as always out of my wallet. As I paid for the medicine, I placed the bag in my backpack.

Me: ''Well I must go now. Thank you.''

I said as I turn around and began to walk.

Mrs. Green: ''Lily wait.''

I turner around and looked at her. She was about to say something but then she changed her mind.

Mrs. Green: ''Ah just forget it. It slipped out of my mind. Goodbye.''

Me: ''Goodbye.''

As I was walking down the street, I was thinking about the homework that I had to do when I hear loud laughter. Looking up from the ground I saw Luke, Dean, Letty, and Lorry. The moment I saw them I stopped on my track. They were the people that called me LUSER. Because they did not see me jet, so I began to walk backward. But to my luck Lorry saw me. A big grin came on her face.
