Clarke Griffen:
"No, you use this kind. That one would give you a permanent scar and would bring more pain then you already have." I instruct Finn on the different herbs, but he doesn't seem to be paying any attention. I think that he is thinking about a girl named Raven. I caught them trying to sneak away from camp. But he's not the only one who's not paying much attention. My eyes keep wondering to Bellamy. Sometimes, we both stare at each other, grinning. It's been two days since he kissed me; I mean I kissed him; well, he kissed me back...whatever it was, it was wonderful!
"Hello? Earth to Clarke!" Charlotte stands in front of me, waving her hand in a circular motion. My cheeks blush and burn up. Did she seriously see me staring at Bellamy? I squat down face level with her so that she can repeat her question, gaining my full attention. "Were you looking at Bellamy? I know you like him." she whispers in my ear." I smile and place my finger on her nose.
"You didn't see a thing." She giggles and walks back to her place. Everyone in the drop ship use their quick hands to make the medicine I instruct them to make.
In the middle of the day, we have a lunch break before switching classes. The ones who were with me, go to Bellamy and the ones who were with Bellamy go to me. Everyone sits in circles around fires and chats, gulping down their water and crunching in nuts. I sit on the ramp that leads up into the drop-ship staring into the sky. I wonder if my mom is looking down on me from the ARC. I wonder if she is even thinking about me or if she moves on like most families.
"Think much, Princess?" Bellamy sit down next to me, throwing nuts into the air and then catching them in his mouth. I lay down inhaling and exhaling loudly.
"Yep, and about a lot of things." Bellamy leans over my head and brushes a lock of my hair behind my head.
"Really? Because a little birdie told me that one of those things you've been thinking about is me." I slap my forehead. Charlotte.
Bellamy Blake:
I laugh loudly when I see her cheeks turn as red as a rose, and she is as beautiful as one too.
"Charlotte told you, didn't she." She covers her face with her hands, just as Clarke's shadow walks up.
"Sorry, I don't mean to disturb your powwow, but...wait...did you make her cry?" Charlotte says dramatically. I chuckle and Clarke wipes away fake tears.
"Yes, Charlotte, yes!" All of us are laughing now. "No, but seriously, why did you tell him?" Charlotte giggles as I playfully grab her and make her sit on my lap. She reminds me so much of Octavia.
"Because I want you guys to be together."
"Why?" I ask curiously. Both Clarke and I focus on her intensely.
"Because you remind me of my mom and dad." It hits me like a wave. This young child, was ripped away from her parents and sent to another planet. I'm honored to be thought of as a father, but Clarke has a nervous look on her face. It just gives her another thing to worry about. I squeeze her shoulder in reassurance. Charlotte lays her head on my shoulder and Clarke lays her's on the other. Together, we are family; and I can't afford to lose any of them.
"BELLAMY! BELLAMY!" I get up and leave Charlotte with Clarke. When I run over the gate, Finn jogs over toward me.
"Well?!? What is it?"
"There are grounders surrounding the fence."
