Emma's POV
"What do you mean the council won't let Jax come to school?"
"They think he should be watched because of you know...last year."
"He's changed. We've been hanging out a lot."
"Well the council doesn't think so."
"I'm going to talk to them."
"Emma, just because your The Chosen One doesn't mean the council doesn't have power over you."
BING! BING! BING! BING!
"Gotta gotta go to class. This conversation isn't over."
I'm walking to class. I run into Jax again.
"What are you doing here?"
"Going to school."
"I thought the council didn't want you to."
"They didn't. Until they gave me a ankle bracelet."
He pulls up his pant leg and I see a big, ugly, black, fat ankle bracelet.
"Wow. Nice bling."
"I know right."
We stare at each other for a while. He smiled at me and his white teeth shone so bright.
Maddie's POV
As Emma and Jax continue to stare at each other, I feel more awkward.
"Well I'm going to class. I'll see you later, Em. Bye Jax."
I give them both a hug. I hope Emma and Jax hit it off becaue I really think Emma and Jax would make a cute couple. Here comes Daniel.
"Have you seen Emma?"
"No hello? Nice shirt?"
"Hello Maddie, have you seen Emma?"
"Yes."
"Great! Where is she at?"
"Like I'd tell you! You hurt her so bad. She jut wanted to talk, but you wouldn't let her!"
"I know. That's why I need to talk to her."
"Good luck with that."
"Why?"
"Well, Jax is back and Emma and him have been spending a lot of time together."
"No way."
"Don't believe me? Go look for yourself."
Daniel walks down the hallway.
Emma's POV
"So wanna go to the beach after school?"
"I'd love to!"
"Hey, Em..."
"Danny, what are you doing here?"
"I wanted to talk to you."
"I'll go. I have to go to Lily about the..."
"Yeah. I'll see you after school. Okay."
"Okay."
Jax walks away. I look at Daniel.
"It's a little late."
"I'm so sorry, Em."
"I gotta go."
"Emma, are we through?"
"I need time to think. And I need to help Jax with some things, so yes. Don't worry I'm sure Mia's single."
"I don't like Mia. I like you."
"Wow, " like" I thought we were further than that."
"Emma!"
"I gotta go!"
I run off to History. SMACK!
"Hey!"
"Emma you okay?"
"No! Maddie I don't know what to do."
"It's okay. You don't have to be in a relationship right now. Just focus on being The Chosen One."
"Your right."
"Of course I am."
I look and Maddie and we start laughing. Maddie is nicer than I thought. We walk to History together arm in arm. I think we're becoming best friends.
