Emma's POV
I'm freaking out. Maddie can't die, I just started to like her. I run over to the nurse and doctor.
"HURRY UP! DO SOMETHING!"
"Honey, we're trying."
I run over to Maddie's bed and hover over her and start crying.
"Maddie, you better not die! You hear me. MADDIE!"
The doctor whispers something to the nurse.
"Im sorry. There's nothing else we can do. We'll give you guys some time."
The nurse follows the doctor out of the room.
I look at Diego, who's curled up in a ball crying in the corner. Daniel is trying to comfort him. I think I even saw Mia crying a little. I stand up and dry my face. I look at Maddie's pale, lifeless body.
"No! I will not accept this!"
"Give it up, Emma. It's too late."
"No! No it's not! I will not just stand here and accept this."
"You can't save her."
"I have to try."
Maddie's POV
Drifting...drifting...drifting away. Everything drifting away.
"Daddy, am I doing the right thing?"
"I don't know. What do you think?"
My dad snaps his fingers. I see Diego, Daniel, Emma and Mia.
"What is this? Where is this?"
"This is...the present. In your hospital room right now."
"WOW! That's AMAZING!"
"Mads, look. They care about you. Emma is risking to expose the magic relam, just to save you."
"Your right, I can't do this to them."
"And look...that poor boy. He's dying, Mads."
PROXY!
Emma's POV
If this doesn't work...then I'll be MAD! I hover over Maddie.
"Daniel, watch the door!"
"Okay, Mads. Here I go."
I cast a spell on her. A sleeping spell.
"Did you do it?"
"Yeah."
I look at the monitor and Maddie has a heart rate. The nurse comes back in.
"Hmmm...I guess it wasn't her time. I'll tell the doctor she's okay."
Maddie's POV
I hug and wave goodbye to my dad as I'm drifting back to life. The last thing I hear before I leave, is my dad saying he loves and is proud of me.
"I love you too!"
I see a bright light and...
COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!
"Maddie? Are you okay?"
"Mmmmm....Yeah. What happened?"
Proxy walks over to me.
"Emma saved you."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Emma walks over.
"Is there anything you need?"
"Yes. I want to talk to Diego...alone."
"Okay. Mia, Daniel, let's go!"
Mia, Emma and Daniel walk out the door and Proxy walks over to me.
"What do you need?"
"I need you."
"Maddie, I'm here."
"Can you sit with me?"
"Of course."
Proxy sits next to me. Suddenly I become very cold.
"P-rox-y, I-m fr-ee-zi-ng."
"It's okay."
He hugs me and I warm up instantly.
"Thanks."
"Mads, what's wrong with you? Ever since Mia, you've been acting weird."
I look at him. I want to tell him, but every time I start to, I look in those big, brown eyes and loose myself. That's exactly what I'm doing right now.
"Your eyes are beautiful. They look like huge chocolate chips."
Proxy smiles.
"Thanks, Mads. You don't have to tell me. Just rest."
I close my eyes. I'll talk to him later.
Diego's POV
I'm sitting with Maddie as she's sleeping. She's so GORGEOUS when she's sleeping. I pull out my phone and text Daniel.
Diego: Where r u guys?
Daniel: We went 2 Mia's. Wanted 2 give u and Maddie some privacy.
Diego: Thanks.
Daniel: How's she doing?
Diego: Sleeping rite now.
Daniel: When can she come home?
Diego: I don't no. I'll ask the nurse.
I turn my phone off and carefully escape Maddie's grip. Gosh, her grip is TOUGH! I walk to the nurse's desk.
"When can Maddie come home?"
"We're going to keep her another night. You wanna stay with her?"
"Yes."
I walk back to Maddie's room and I call Gigi.
Diego: "Hey, tell mom I won't be home until tomorrow."
Gigi: "Why?"
Diego: "Maddie's in the hospital and I'm going to stay the night with her."
Gigi: "You hate the doctors."
Diego: "I'm doing it for Maddie! Will you do it or not?"
Gigi: Fine! You owe me. I..."
Diego: "BYE!"
I hang up. I love Gigi, but sometimes I wish I was a only child. I text Daniel again.
Diego: Can u do me a favor?
Daniel: Sure. What is it?
Diego: The hospital is keeping Maddie 4 tonite. I was wondering if u could bring some clothes 4 me?
Daniel: Sure. Anything else?
Diego: Yeah. Ask Emma if she can bring Maddie some. Maddie HATES wearing the same thing twice.
Daniel: No problem.
I sit next to Maddie. It's going to be an...interesting night, but a least I get to spend it with the most beautiful girl in the world.
