Just friends?

Part 13

After changing, you quickly leave for the terrace.

As soon as you reach the terrace, you hear "happy birthday y/n!"
You look towards your left and see Jimin, Soojin and Mingi standing with big smiles on their faces.
You look around and see how beautifully they had decorated the place and made a big surprise.

Tears started coming from your eyes and Soojin runs towards you.
"Ahh why are you crying, you dumbo?" She says as she gives you a tight hug.

You walk towards Jimin and Mingi who were holding the cake for you.
"Happy 19th birthday, y/n" Mingi says with a smile and you thank him.

After cutting the cake, you were opening their gifts.
Soojin had got you a dress you have been thinking of buying for a month.
You were now opening Mingi's gift. You open it and see a beautiful bracelet.

"This is so pretty, Mingi! Thank you" you say and smile at him.

Jimin who got jealous hands you his gift and says, "here! Open mine"

You open it and see a key chain. It had your name written in it.
"Jimin I-

"You don't like it?" He asks not even letting you speak.

"no jimin. I am saying i love it!" You say as you smile at him and he takes a sigh of relief.

*later*
After celebrating for a few hours, everyone decided to go back to the dorm.
"did you have fun, my y/n?" Soojin asked putting her arms around your shoulder and you nod with a smile.

You four were just about to leave when Jimin holds your arm, stopping you from going.
"I need to tell you something.." He said.

Soojin understood the situation and she puts her arm around Mingi's shoulder. "Let's go, Mingi! You can drop me till my dorm right?" She said as she drags him with her and leaves you two alone.

Mingi started getting worried.

I want go back...i want to know what are they doing.
He thought as he turns around but Soojin stops him and says, "where are you going? They will come on their own"

*at the terrace*

"What do you want to tell me?" You ask.

"I..I don't know how you will react to this" he said and started getting nervous.

You hold his arm and say, "You can tell me anything, Jimin"

He takes your hand from his arm and pulls you closer.
"I..like you,y/n" he said and your eyes widened.

"What-"

"I said i like you....and more than a friend." he said staring right into your eyes.

You were speechless as he waited for your answer.

"Jimin....I'm sorry" you say and he looks at you getting a bit upset.

"I would like us to just stay friends. It would be better if we keep things like they are right now" You say as you look down, feeling sorry for rejecting him.

"Why? Is it because of Mingi? Do you like him?" He asks as he holds your hand tightly.

"No..Its not like that. I'll go now. Sorry" You say as you leave, leaving him alone.

When you go back downstairs, you see Soojin waiting for you.
After Mingi left, she came back to wait for you.
"What happened? What did he say?" She asked, pretending to not know anything.

You didn't say anything and just walk away.
"Whats wrong?" She asks as she looks around that Jimin still hadn't come back.

I guess it didn't go well..
She thought as she runs back to the terrace and sees Jimin sitting on the floor.
Without much thinking, she runs and hugs him tightly.
